I´m just amazed of how much technlogy goes in to a watch

Been waiting for this vid! You're doing great! Do you have any pointers on finding similar quality vintage watches on eBay for restoration? To get started, I've been working on old Timex and other Swiss pin pallet watches since they are more accessible financially. And of course, the tools are pricy so I have to factor that when buying watches to restore. Do you have an idea what I should pay for a similar watch in this condition? Or approximately what you paid, if you're comfortable sharing that information. Thanks for your time, either way. About to watch this again 🎉

Hey! Glad you liked the video 😁 The trick on eBay is patience and checking it every day. I found it easier to research first which specific models I’d like to buy, so I can target the eBay search a bit more rather than looking for “broken vintage watches”. For a vintage Tudor in this condition I’d expect around 500$, but as you say, the tools are the expensive part! Good luck with the search!

Great watch that's one of my favourite vintage Tudors and you did a really good job I'm tinkering myself with a vintage alarm watch. Andy UK.

Thank you Andy! I have a couple alarm watches lined up for repair as well. Definitely one of my favourite complications!

I agree completely. Don’t touch that dial patina at all.

Adjusting the beat error through that balance spring was something I'd never even considered, risky, but a lot quicker if you don't slip haha. Great work mate. I'm reaching that point in watch repair where I'm getting stuck due to lack of tools, need a staking set and mainspring winders now. I bought the AliExpress mainspring winders but they are almost useless due to them being movement specific not size.

Thank you for this. I'm wearing this exact watch with the 2462 17 jewel movement. It's great to see what makes it tick.

Never, ever, ever oil the pallet bridge!!!
@rescuingwatches4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip!😁 I was reading about it now and, although there seems to be mixed opinions, most watchmakers seem to agree on not oiling that bridge, since the smallest amount of oil could already slow the movement down. Good to know!
