I've always been amazed that we leave so many ancient wonders in rubble. Keep at it, Greeks!

We have many antiquities throughout the country. It is very expensive and time-consuming to restore and maintain so many monuments.

I am overwhelmed watching such painstaking tedious meticulous and detailed work. It seems like it will take them a hundred years to put this gigantic puzzle back together!

I hope they continue with the reconstruction. If it's done with precision and without inventing anything, I think it will be great. Many other monuments have already been reconstructed, which helps us show this important monument to future generations. Additionally, you can see the contrast between the new and old materials, it looks incredible.

What about all the rubble around the Parthenon? So many broken pieces scattered all over. Will all this be just left like this?

Much of the labor of what these men are doing would be so much easier if there had been no explosion in the parthenon and Elgin had just left the Parthenon marbles where he found them. We could see so much of the original temple if everybody had just left it alone. Even the people who tried to repair it in the early 1900s caused marble pieces to split by using iron clamps. It seems man just mess everything up.

It is a 2500 year old monument. He has been through a lot over the years. Nevertheless, it remains the symbol of Western civilization. The restoration process is difficult and demanding but it is necessary for the monument to continue to have the glory it deserves.

@@DIGI_CHANNEL I understand all of that. My point was the work would be easier if destructive human beings had not been in the picture. That was my point.

Is it expensive? Yes. But as a canadian i will DEFINITELY VENTURE AND GIVE YOUR COUNTRY MONEY TO SEE A REBUILT ANCIENT STRUCTURE! make it free for your citizens to walk about, but charge all of us tourists for a day pass to make the money back quickly. I genuinely believe Greece could make a shit ton of money out of tourism by doing that.

Έχω την αίσθηση ότι με την κατασπατάληση αμέτρητων χρημάτων στον δημόσιο τομέα σε σειρά δεκαετιών θα είχαμε (αν θέλανε) τουλάχιστον δύο Παρθενώνες!

Το όλο εγχείρημα είναι εξαιρετικά δύσκολο! Από την εύρεση των μαρμάρων, την μεταφορά τους, την συντήρηση και συμπλήρωση των παλιών μαρμαρμάρων και τέλος την αποδόμηση και αναδόμηση όλων των κτιρίων της Ακρόπολις. Και όλα αυτά με χειρουργικές κινήσεις γιατί οι εργασίες γίνονται μέσα και γύρω από τα ίδια τα μνημεία. Κατασπαταλούντε χρήματα σε άχρηστα και πολλές φορές ανούσια έργα. Για το συγκεκριμένο έργο μόνο περήφανοι θα πρέπει να είμαστε!

​@@DIGI_CHANNEL Συμφωνώ αλλά λέω το εξής: Διαχρονικά έχει γίνει κανονική αφαίμαξη από πολλούς τομείς του δημοσίου επί σειρά δεκαετιών. Από το 1980 θυμάμαι τον γερανό μέσα στον Παρθενώνα και πάει λέγοντας. Και τέλος πάντων αν ο Παρθενώνας ήταν σε άλλο κράτος θα είχε τελειώσει η αναστύλωση του!

Έχουν χάσει 50 χρόνια αναστήλωση διότι χρησιμοποιουσαν σιδερένιες ενώσεις οι οποίες πάθει οξυδωση. Αποτέλεσμα να τα αφαιρέσουν αφού οι πρόγονοι μας ήταν πιο έξυπνοι. Άλλο πρόβλημα ήταν η καμπύλη των κιόνων η οποία ήταν διαφορετική σε κάθε σπόνδυλο. Πριν ορισμένα χρόνια ανακάλυψαν την τεχνική, και τώρα προχωρούν σωστά, αλλά με αργό ρυθμό. Έχουμε και την θρησκεία η οποία δέχεται το ισλάμ αλλά φοβάται την θεά Αθηνά. Έχουμε και την διαφθορά με τους φυλαργυρους.
