New bearings, new synchros, check all gears for wear, adjust shifter linkage -- That's a restoration. Hard work, and requires a ton of know-how.

Not that I'm defending him, but those transmission's are pretty bulletproof and looked to be in very nice shape so a rebuild most likely wasn't needed and the cleanup he did was great! Restoration no, but don't forget the language barrier. Good enough for a thumbs up from me.

Soon available on EBay as a fully “restored” 4speed. Didn’t appear to be rebuilt though. I guess there a difference.

For some strange reasons sand blasting and through that removing dead and old paint of any component/part is highly SATISFYING, who all agree with me 🙏

For all the Would be restorers and rebuilders out there, Camrys are Front Wheel drive Vehicles. That gearbox is from a rear wheel drive vehicle. There are those for whom rear wheel drive vehicles are different from front wheel drive vehicles. Applies in every country. Additionally, rebuilds of mechanical equipment customarily entail slightly different procedures to those displayed in this Utube video. just my two bits worth.

Don’t take it too seriously. You may have your own high standard comprehension of the word Restoration, but the meaning of Restore, according to Merriam-Webster dictionary, is simply “to bring back something to use”. These guys did a good job on this old gear box.

A Toyota CeLica 5speed not 4, w58 Transmission....BuLLetProof.! A full overall would be to inspect and dismantling of heavily worn runner gear/synchro assembly. But all this is a dismantling and clean, re-grease with new gasket seals and a lick of paint. Doesn’t wash in the U.K. it’s deceptive to claim as though such an item has been rebuilt and overalled from scratch. Perhaps I’m wrong and maybe the Transmission was of extremely low miles, but a bit of commentary would hav worked in your favour. However, The finished item looks great.!

Just to add to what everyone else has already said, but this is just a clean and reseal. Nothing was repaired, nothing was replaced. Not a restoration. It SaYs ReStOrAtIoN, nOt ReBuIlD. Yeah, that's what a restoration is, dumbasses. What I used to do was restoration, total strip and rebuild. This is just a fancy cleaning.
