In this video, I will show the restoration of the USSR WW2 helmet. This model of helmet was SSH-39 used by Soviet forces at the beginning of World War II. This helmet has been in the ground for 75 years. This helmet I renovated to participate in military reconstructions.
No propaganda and extremism. Only history!

Nice restoration, mate! But... Every time I see such helmets I ask me the question: Could they even stop a bullet? So, I mean... This is very thin steel, and I dont think it would stop a 7,92 x 57 mm Mauser bullet, shot out of a Mauser Kar98k. I would even say it cant stop a bullet out of a MP 40, Sturmgewehr 44 or a Luger P08. Does anyone know better? - Please let me know! :D
@forestfoxairsoft6752
@forestfoxairsoft6752 4 жыл бұрын
This would have a good chance to stop 9mm out of a Luger, MP40, etc. It may stop 7.62x25 (PPSH and TT). It wouldn't stop 7.92x33 or 7.92x57 unless it's a lucky bounce or very long range.

No, It could not maybe a 22 Lr they weren't designed to stop bullets.
@thisolesignguy2733
@thisolesignguy2733 4 жыл бұрын
They weren't meant to completely stop the bullets, they were meant to deflect them and protect your head when crawling around or from shrapnel and flying objects. Nowadays they coat helmets with Kevlar for bullet protection, but back then they were more about the best protection with lightweight just to keep the soldiers in the field with bombs blowing around them. Alot of guys would sit on their helmets in helicopters and lifts (pilots in airplanes also) to protect their 'jewels' from shrapnel.

@@thisolesignguy2733 the use in helicopters came during Vietnam. In the beginning the Vietcong actually used long bamboo steel tipped spears in shooting at low flying helicopters

Больно смотреть, как уничтожили родную краску на боевом шлеме с историей. Их хватает "учебных", складских. Покраска по кавернам - тоже "огонь". Звезду можно нанести гораздо более простым и аккуратнымспособом.
