Hello, these videos are amazing! I just picked up a Special select squareback 2 that is in pretty decent shape but would like to clean it up. I see you did one here and it turned out great! My question is about the lines on the blade all through the putter opposite side of the face. If it’s polished with the debur grinder would those disappear? Also with the Keracoat will it affect the milling on the putter face or eventually start to wear and no longer be black? Thank you!

Are you talking about the mill lines? If the putter is in bad shape and you're trying to get all of the dings out then yes, sometimes the mill lines are taken out. And no Cerakote doesn't affect the face, and lasts a long time if taken care of

@@igolf906 Ok, yes there are faint lines that flow from heel to toe on the opposite side of the putter face. More like decoration. Do you have a full video of the Squareback you torched here?

@Abbaseeker79 Still don't understand what lines you're talking about. There's the sightline, and then the body lines from the mill. Neither of which will "disappear" from a deburring wheel. And no I don't have any other video from this restore.

Do you think it is possible to strip the chrome plating on a putter shaft and give it an oil finish or torched finish? I was thinking of making a pvc tube for HCL to strip it, and another for the oil to drop the shaft into.
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
Anything is possible. It's just having the right equipment to do it. Stripping chrome and nickel is something I tried and will probably never attempt again lol. But if you have all the right things you could do it if it's bare metal and prepped properly. But in my opinion I think the shaft will rust rather quickly regardless of the finish you put on it if its bare steel.

@@igolf906 I have some experience doing it with classic car trim pieces. I was thinking of putting the finish on it, then hitting it with clear to protect from moisture? Thoughts?
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
@MrHazz0 That could work. The clear coat will wear fast if you're using just standard paint though.

Can I ask a question. The Mizuno Bettinardi putters have this silver painted face. How would you go about repairing that if it started to peel?
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
Never dealt with one. Could be plated. Could be a dlc or pvd type coating I'm not sure. Especially with out seeing jt
