Nice refurbishing project. It look pretty good now and does run. However, I find it hard to believe the brushes were bad. Brushes are merely a electrical connection from the supply voltage to the commutator to the armature... Odd the used ones didn't work! Thumbs Up!

You notice at 23:22 the used charcoal part will be concave in the middle. I also re-sharpened it but it still cannot run. This is a video project. If done in full, it would be very long so I won't show the part. that into the video
