Thanks for the video. I have a precision yard trailer. I'm going to up the wheels to the 15 from the 10's on it now as it won't hook up to my quad with the 10s. And the hurricane straps idea is what I was looking for as the trailer I have the walls are pushing out on it so hopefully that will work with mine too.

Thank you for this video!Great job! I was handed an old rusty cart that need the be repainted. Don’t know how old it is. First I was going to use Kleen Strip concrete and metal prep.. Use a angle grinder with 80 grit floppy disk to work it in. Rinse it. Then spray Kleen Strip again. Then put Rustoleum rusty metal primer and then high gloss red spray paint. Before I do all that wondered if it could have lead paint on it. I guess I need to do a lead test first just to be safe. Did this ever cross your mind that I it could have lead paint?

It was not something that crossed my mind. While older, I don't think this unit was old enough to have been from the lead paint era - most likely it was under 20 year old.

Great video! That trailer looks better than new. I just picked up a similar trailer on Craigslist for $50 and plan to restore it as well. You gave me some good ideas for how to tackle the job. I wasn't planning on disassembling, but I like the fact that you can then paint the parts individually and deal with any hidden rust that might be hard to get to when it's assembled. Just curious... what type of paint did you use? I was planning to use Rustoleum Rust Inhibitor as a primer and then top-coating with regular Rustoleum. Not sure if that's overkill. I don't want to end up spending more on the restoration than I paid for the cart itself.

If I recall correctly those two paints, and in that order, are exactly what I did. At the end of the day you do what you can and then use it. When you notice a scratch grab your rattle can and touch it up - keeping the rust at bay as long as possible.

Great job but you went the wrong direction on grain of plywood for maximum strength

It was a scrap piece of wood I had laying around - might have cut it differently if I had a full sheet. But it's held since and not been an issue.

If I recall correctly they were 14inch wheels - but I'm not 100% positive on that it was a few years ago.
