Hello from Vermont USA. This video series is truly amazing to discover as I contemplated adopting a 1970 Bentley T1 that needs considerable mechanical love and attention to bring back to a safe, reliable driver. I was (ok truth be told--AM intimidated) by the job(s) ahead of me but these videos help so much to understand what's involved. My first car resto was a 1968 Corvette Convertible. This one is way bigger and more complicated but I look forward to embarking on the journey. The car should arrive on the truck in a few weeks. Thanks so much for sharing your Rolls Royce experiences.

Is that an export car gear shifter looks export type Pre, 75 had narrow arches not as nice The 76 had the shadow 2 type dash not as nice, the 75 is the one in a corniche to have I only buy flared arch had 4 so far I do have a 75 LWB now Also remember seeing your 600 for sale another nice car and also the one to have 👍

I had no idea that the Brittish car maker, Daimler, was the same as the one with Daimler Benz. Rolls Royce built cars here in the US in 1928 and 1929. They never said why they stopped.
@johnburns401711 ай бұрын
The names gives them away. Daimler Benz have a large UK setup. 1,600 are employed at just the HQ at Milton Keynes. The F1's are designed and built at Northampton, the AMG are designed and adapted at Brackley. The top end sports cars built in Woking. The high tech stuff is done in the UK.
@wernerdanler274211 ай бұрын
@johnburns4017 The British car company, Daimler, goes back further. It has nothing to do with present-day Daimler Benz. There was a family connection. I looked it up once some time ago.
@johnburns401711 ай бұрын
@@wernerdanler2742 Gottlieb Daimler worked in Manchester in the 1860s. Daimler UK bough the Daimler German patents making German Daimler engine designs, then also made their own. It was separate from the the German company. But Gottlieb Daimler was on the board. British money went into the German Daimler company if I recall. The Benz and Daimler companies merged in the 1920s, forming Mercedes Benz with Daimler as the umbrella company. British money and involvement also helped setup Siemens the German electrical giant.

Fascinating. One question though. I’ve heard from “experts” that it’s not a good idea to change the colour of leather seats. Is this a myth as you seem to know what your doing.
