Those Tyco Mantua locomotives are so darn tough!!! They built some of the best motors!!! Nice looking paint scheme it’s such a classic Tyco scheme!!!👍👍

Great video Dan! I have not tried pulling the axels to help, clean MU2s but yep, pop off the side frames and you can atleast oil and clean the commutator pretty well. I don’t have an original CN GP20 but have painted one in similar fashion, though I added the white striping on the long hood. Have an original Tyco CN f unit that I have restored. All the best!

That’s Awesome! I do have a feeling that was sold in the Canadian Market. I think that engine Runs perfectly, except for starting up. But nothing is perfect, I would leave it be. Once again Great Restoration! Also I have sent you an Email just wondering if you have received it. Thank you, keep up the great work!

Well ya know im gonna like that one. Some stuff up here🇨🇦 Dan was regional. I sent a VIA F unit to Ron at CMTs. A fortune in Colorado but there around here. Only piece i can say for sure is a Canadian exclusive were the CP Switchers.(red&yellow)I have a yellow one🚂🇨🇦🇺🇲🙋

I see CN engines all the time in the freight yard close to my house. Not sure if they have GP20s but they use old GPs for switching all the time! I like your idea of removing the axles to clean them. I never thought of that, rivets are a pain. I also like your Ammeter! That looks cool and I spy some Gilbert HO on the shelf cool stuff!

CN never had GP20's. What they do have are rebuilt chop nosed GP9's that look similar to the above model. CN rebuilt their GP9s in the 80's and early 90's.
