Once again, Monsieur, chapeau! Ah, from the moment I saw George Harrison using a Cartier Baignoire (that he bought very early with his success as a Beatle), I love the rareness of an oval/elliptical-shaped watch, such as the Baignoire, Patek Philipe Ellipse and this one. It’s an object of a strange beauty. Once again, Merci, Beaucoup...

Another excellent service. The initial readings on the timegrapher are a testament as to the quality of the movement. I am going to use your tip about gently nudging the movement holder in order to seat the various pivots, which is a nice little hack. Thanks again.

So many fun details with this movement! Little notes to the person doing the service, in the form of diagrams on top of the barrel, those arrows on the wheels, etc. Makes you understand why JLC is referred to as, "the watchmaker's watchmaker." 🤓Wonderful work as always FWC, and I'm happy to see the watches for sale too, I will have to order one from you in the future 👍

Nice movements, yes, the click spring is not obvious. There is a restorer on line that never releases the power and lets the wheels spin until the power is released. Always a cringing moment ;-) If you ever cut the stem too short, place a small piece (tiny) of solder into the crown threaded tube. Insert the stem, tighten and see if it fits. Repeat if necessary. The caveat is to always use a piece of solder smaller than you think you need. cheers, Geoff

Wow what an Easter egg. Hear I am expecting a small mynewt movement, one from a ladys watch or something to acomafate a modified egg shaped dial, but no, you open it up and bringo a big beautiful JLC movement and the dial is round. The wonder dosnt stop. They actually faceted the egg shape face on the round dial. This is some what mind boggling to me. Maybe it's the German in me that wants to do things complicated but this is something of an easy solution to a complicated end result. Let just make the face egg shape and let the people thing the watch is egg shape. It's a perfect illusion. I can't get over it. So now I'm gona watch the rest of the video. I'll attach more to this comment if I have something else to say. Wa wa wa wa wau , it's always amazing to se how complicated they are. JLC watches are in a class of there own or even Rolex can come close to them. A Rolex is easy in comparison . Looks like that most watches are muddled after ETA but not JLC no they are spetial. I'm so surprised that they are no more expensive. These watches are ease in the leag of , no better then PhiPAt. Ect

I like to use a penetrating oil product called Kroil instead of WD40. It won't contaminate the cleaning fluid like WD40 does and works better too. In the factory (assembling new watches), they leave the stems long and shorten the last thing. They don't take out again or file or measure. Their clippers cut off flush enough to not need filing.
