Masterfully done. I'm afraid your work is overshadowed by how beautiful this watch is. Not only on the outside, but also on the inside. I don't remember seeing a movement this pure. The owner of this watch must be very proud. Thank you for sharing.

Sorry to see a few armchair watchmakers spouting negative comments! In my opinion you are exceedingly careful and completely respectful of this timepiece. The finished result - beautiful!

Wow 🤩 than you so much for kind words. I appreciate that. You made my day ☺️ Since I am on KZbin I learned to deal with this comments from people are unhappy with the work of other’s. No one think about how much work and effort it takes to made such a video on top of the watchmaking. How ever I respect every opinion and try to learn from it. Thanks again for kind words. Have a great day ☺️

Come on Paul, JLC is too far above Seiko, can't even think of them using a Seiko or for that, any other movement. That watch could cost up to 10k.

Mr. Lmar, upon further review of your reply to my comment I believe it was intended for the benefit of Mr. Stephens whose comment appeared just before mine. He made reference to the Seiko movement while I did not. However, I still agree with your characterization of JLC’s movement choice.

Beautiful video - love the 4k. The symmetry of the keyless works is nice. I kept thinking, "this looks like a nicely-finished Seiko movement." Maybe the extra jewels are like spare buttons with a jacket or spare fuses in your car 😁

I am guessing the three jewels are not completely non-functional: they probably protrude slightly above their plate and provide support for the alarm dial.
@MagicWatchmaking Жыл бұрын
Down below in the comments there is a very plausible description. This movement can carry an chronograph module. That’s why the jewels are there. Thank you for watching ☺️
@valmonta36472 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing your amazing work So if i must assume the three jewels were just decoration ?
@MagicWatchmaking2 жыл бұрын
I think this movement is used also for chronograph’s. That’s why the hole’s excites. In this watch they are just closed with jewels.

I have a question... Does removing the balance cap jewel or the entire chaton assembly before running the movement through the watch cleaning machine increase the risk of damaging the balance staff pivot? Or is it quite the opposite? Also, fantastic video! This is such a beautiful piece and the movement is absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing!

that's an extremely clean watch, kinda surprised anything would cause it's time not to be accurate, probably just dried oil, seeing how long it takes for dissassembly makes me understand why they charge about 1000$ for a service...

Is it normal that the date changes at 1'30 ? I have the same issue with my Amvox 1 that changes date at 1'00 and not 12'00. So I'm wondering if I must consider servicing. Thanks for your answer
@MagicWatchmaking Жыл бұрын
There are movements with instant date change. Date change will be exactly at midnight. Other movements have slow date change. Can start 11:30 pm or later and they need one hour or longer to finish. If any service needed I can’t tell. You have to test the watch by watchmaker.
@oruga65 Жыл бұрын
It is normal in this movement (JLC 918), it has slow date change as @magicwatchmaking says. You don't have to service it, at least for this reason! ;)
