I find that a brown permanent marker can color in a white area before applying your stain! If you need to do it a second time after you stain it usually helps. Make sure the first marker coat is dried before applying your stain!

I love whatching your videos. It reminds me of them time my family mother, aunts and uncles always made tea and coffee time a special time, even if we had sometimes only one gest. But even during the weekday when an aunt or uncle or a neighbor came to stay for dinner, she made it special. Out came the nice dishes, appetizers, including cocktail forks etc. Teapot with rum and lemon. Her go-to Quick cakes where also a swirl cake like the one you just made and a fruit tart on biscuit bottom. When she had more time she used to make elaborate Torten with creams and fillings. I learned the love for cooking, baking and hosting from her. I hope my kids learn from me that tradition also and carry it on for their families.

I always learn something from your lovely videos. When I was a child, my Mom and I would bake together, and we'd use Bundt cake mixes with flavored centers or swirls like this. Sure brings back nice memories.

There is a product that I always use. I've sold for years in antiques stores. We've always had great luck with a product called Restore-a-finsh. I love it. Does a great job on all types of finishes and different woods colors.

I made this cake today. as usual the annoying blog post put me off a little but I finally reached the recipe and printed it. It turned out very well and after cooling I returned it to the bundle pan and wrapped it for the freezer. I have two of those pans and it does protect the cake from damage while in the freezer. As always, thank you for sharing and for being such a gentleman.

I am going to make your cranberry cream bars with the graham cracker crust for the holidays. I also thought of a german version for it:" use dark sweet cherries instead of cranberries and chocolate cracker crust then you have a black forest version of it. As always a very interesting and satisfying video. The table come out just fine after all that elbow grease. I just made a banana nut loaf with raisins and since I didn't have buttermilk I used Greek yogurt. It was moist and oh so tasty! Hope the rest of your Sunday is a pleasant one Kevin.

If you give the table a try again, you can cover knot with a larger stain area, more narrow with grain, and then feather and blend it with 800 grit to 1200. Clear it and wet sand 1500.

My mother used to put waxed paper around the edges of the cake she was dusting with sugar. Just cut off strips of the paper to do this. Once the cake is dusted, slip the paper out and you will have a clean edge to you cake plate. She also taught me to break eggs one by one into a small bowl and then add them to the batter. That keeps any possibility of any egg shell getting into your batter. That’s a good practice especially if you are new to baking. I love your show. I am trained to present a “proper British tea”. I would love to talk tea with you. There are a few differences.

Kevin, a teatowel (not a waffle type just a plain cotton one) and a gentle warm iron (no steam) that gets my water stains out. Hope that helps. 😊
