Restoring Door Panels and Installing a Steering Damper: 1980 Dodge W200

This time at the Quick Speed Shop I'm back working on the 1980 Dodge W200. I'm restoring the door panels with some SEM paint, determining that the arm rests are ruined, and installing some Kilmat sound deadening in the interior of the doors. After that I install a Skyjacker steering stabilizer I bought from Summit Racing.

The Dodge 4x4 trucks had a side steer front axle which is prone to bumpsteer at the best of times.

When you turned to the left, the stabiliser ram seemed to bottom out just before you got full lock. Looks like you need to adjust the ram out just a touch so the you get full turning lock to the left before the ram bottoms out.

It's got about an 1/8" of travel left. The knuckle has a positive stop so the wheels can't turn any further.

Maybe you have already checked but LMC has armrest that look the same or very similar (they only show 1990-) for $59 a set. That Skyjacker sticker is good for approximately 5.632 extra hp. 👍

Those won't fit. The Dodge truck armrests were one design '72-'79, the ones for my truck '80-'88, and the LMC ones '89-'93.
