Got a whole gym in my garage brother sucks in the winter up here by chicago. I definitely need to invest in a nice sized heater for the cold months. That slowed me down a lot

@@girlsdrinkfeck I mean I would warm up after a set or two. But nah the cold Midwest snow and humidity was messing all my weighed and bench up. Rusting it all out, I have everything setup in an extra room now. It’s way better only thing is it’s hot in here in the summer.!

This is why I paint my plates and bar from the very beginning after buying them. I coat them with an anti-corrosive paint.

Living in a apartment, I managed to fit a tds lat pulldown machine in my bedroom and I bought a ton of used gym cable attachments used on ebay. They have a huge selection of used tricep/ bicep bars ,lat bars, weight plates, used, you can't miss! Still have a lot listed today!! Ebay..

Yes you are right. In lockdown all the gyms closed so I made a whole gym in the garage. 👌

Nice job of that 👏 to stay fit I've continued to work (work in the energy sector) 👍 and ride my bike walk etc 😀

Thanks Dan! It was a very quick restoration, I was almost late for work because of it 😂 but they only needed to be good enough to use but they actually turned out quite nice! Thanks for the support. 👌 I also fixed up my bike but so far only cycled in twice 😂 does that count? 😆

I think the sharpie gold at the end was such a good idea.
@JKLProjects2 жыл бұрын
Many thanks for the kind comment! Some people use contrasting paint but the Sharpie is so quick and effective and can be touched up easily if it comes off! Please subscribe for more ☺️

Where can we even find old gym equipment at
@JKLProjects2 жыл бұрын
Best to check on second hand sites like eBay, gumtree, Shpock or carboot sales. They cost around £2 per KG, sometimes less.

Hey Man good job ! What kind of pen did you use when you were painting the numbers on the plates ?
@sonofashepherd66682 жыл бұрын
Looks like a regular metallic gold sharpie
@JKLProjects2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, yes it’s a gold sharpie pen. You could always clear coat afterwards but the sharpie ink is permanent and lasts long enough for gym weights like this. Thanks for watching, please subscribe for more.

Many thanks! It was only a quick restoration. Just needed to knock the surface rust off to get them useable. 2 hours total, not bad!

Didn't like how you didn't remove all of the rust but nice idea of using the marker. I was wondering how I was going to do the lettering.
@JKLProjects Жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for the comment. Only needed to remove the surface rust for these as they are going to get chucked around a bit. For other projects the rust removal is more important. Glad you liked the gold lettering. So much easier than paint and easy to touch up too. Surprisingly long lasting.

Thanks for the video. Do you have a paint recommendation for plates that are going to kept outside. Right now they are rusty and we use them for our sleds. I have no intention of using them inside but would like to paint school colors to make them look nicer. Is it worth it or do you think the new paint will just re-rust?
@JKLProjects2 жыл бұрын
Hi John, I think if you use a rust resistant primer and an outdoor paint like hammerite you might be okay? Not forever but certainly get a few more years out of it before it rusts again.

Should've used white vinegar prior to scrubbing

Hi there, thanks for the feedback. Would the items have to be soaked in white vinegar or do you just put it on and give it a scrub? Many thanks and please consider subscribing for more!

@@JKLProjects I just did it with cleaning vinegar and salt, soaked for a few days, then before I scrubbed I used baking soda for a few minutes, worked great. About to paint this weekend.

@@tommyharris5817 did that with mine too, longer than 24 hours is good too but found 24 to be the minimum, works so well, paint the numbers on mine with car touch up pens, nice glossy finish
