Hi friends! In today's video I'm going to restore the trim pieces of my 1989 Honda CRX ED9 (side moldings, skirts etc). For those of you that haven't seen my other videos, I'm working on my B16A2 Honda CRX restoration project as a hobby. Thank you for watching 😊

*New Subscriber* : Short and to the point. Love the yellow. I'd be terrified of black paint floating around and landing on my car, so I'd never do the spraying in the same room as the car. Greetings from Prague

Yay, thank you for subscribing!!! 😊 yeah I normally wouldn't spray in the same room as the car for this exact reason.. But since I still have to polish it I thought it shouldn't really matter in my case 😊

Heyya, I am actually in the process of painting the whole back part of my girlfriends Miata. And of course I paint all the smaller parts on the ground haha. Good job on your CRX. I wish the Miata looks as good when it's done.

@@joy.vanhaelen It's almost done now. All that is left is the boot lid. I would say it came out pretty good and I have definitely learned a lot about both body work and painting. Sadly it is not possible to attach photos. But then again, I would feel ashamed that my garage is a mess compared to yours :D

Cardboard is my favorite thing for helping painting. I got lucky picking up 2 honda cb7s really helps for the trim pieces. Otherwise you can spend too much time and money on trim. But crx aren't that easy to come by anymore at least not cheap, I'm still shocked that I found a civic wago rt4wd for cheap. I'm thinking about calling it the crusty crab or ms. Mossy cause I might leave the moss on the outside of the car.

Ahhhh yes, cardboard would be so much better than the plastic I'm using. Hahaha and Ms. Mossy is too funny 😂

The combination black and yellow is really great! I hang things to paint, because I can reach it much easier that way. Also I love to put the spraycans in warm water before use, you should try it ; in the Netherlands it is mostly a bit cold, as you probably know... Keep up the good work and really love to see a ancient Honda survive!!

What a difference! That trim looks sooooo fresh now. I do the same, paint the plastic parts like trim but powder coat all the metal stuff like control arms, subframe, knuckles, etc. Keep going this car is really coming together nicely. PS your eye makeup is very nice!

Hey, Keep up the good work. Looks really nice. About painting: i usually get a wire and put it on the smaller parts, because i can rotate them easier to give it a full cover. You can do the same with the bigger parts, but you need a rack to hang them.... it is much easier to paint that way then on the floor. Cant wait to see the rest of it

Sommige plastic delen kunnen wel in de straalcabine, ik zet ‘m dan op 1 of 2 bar. op m’n werk moeten wij weleens naafkapjes in de kleur spuiten maar dat zijn super rare delen met veel vormen en hoekjes waar je niet bij komt met schuren/scotch. dan knal ik ze gewoon in de machine 🙌🏽😊

great question whats the difference of the honda crx from a 88 model and 89 model? i see honda crx forums that use 89 to 91 for engines and etc thanks for making these videos

I´m not sure if you need to paint those plastic parts, I´ve heard just heating them up slightly could restore them to original look?

@@joy.vanhaelen aaaaaaah I was looking at all Honda yellows but couldn’t find a matching one… began to think it might be how it’s appearing on my screen ^^ Renault color… now it makes sense lol
