Absolutely exquisite! Add me to the list of those who are heartily in favor of leaving the unique detailing "as is". There are a lot of restoration artists, as you know, and those in this challenge are among the best of the best. I've noticed that so many are also animal lovers, and I'm not at all surprised, because those who have the vision to see the potential beauty in what would, to other eyes, just appear to be hopeless wrecks, also have the gift of recognizing the beauty in animals. It's the little things that really reveal the individual personalities of those who take their craft to such a high level, and it's so rewarding to notice things such as t-shirts (big thumbs up, by the way, and thanks so much for being a St. Jude's volunteer!) that give clues about the person we're watching do this magic. All that remains now is to voice my concern for that little black and white kitty with the bum leg. 🐱And of course, a big thumbs-up for the finishing touch on the back! 👍 Terrific job all 'round.

You are true carpenter in every sense. The way you enjoy your work, the way you work with bare hands and using hand tools, all depicts your love for the craft. It was such a beautiful restoration. You transformed it into a pure joy. And the highlight was Legs, omg it added the whole new dimension to the table, quite asthetically made. Also, your attention to detail to almost everything was spot on. Loved the sound of train in and howling in the background… Bravo!

What a transformation! Leave the band at the bottom but I suggest staining the light strip at the top and bottom the same cherry as the rest of the piece. The long horizontal drawer pulls work really well, and although I like the circular pulls at the top their shape only references the shape of the legs. I think a shorter version of the big pulls would work better. Even better yet would be ones that are square that echo the squares in the bottom band. Nonetheless, you've done a remarkably successful alteration of 60s dresser and brought it into the 21st Century.

Thank you for the well thought out feedback!! I actually considered shorter versions of the straight pulls but decided on adding some contrast. I am glad I did. Thanks!!
