Thanks for the video. If I don't have the time or tools to perform these steps myself, can I send you my (smaller) Christmas pyramid and pay you to fix it? Please LMK. Thanks!

Outstanding restoration. The format is what these types of channels should be. No excessive narration, showing the actual work, and finishing the project. You have a great channel.

Any idea what the best kind of oil for these old capguns is? I have a Hubley atomic disintegrator that says “keep oiled”, I assume to stop the caps from corroding anything
@Restorology4 күн бұрын
No idea but I guess that a standard 5-in-1 type oil would work for toys. The firearm industry has oils specially suited for its products but that would probably be overkill for a toy gun. I'm really not sure. Sorry!! I oiled this one but I cannot even remember what I used. Probably just something I had laying around at the time.
@PlasticGeek4 күн бұрын
@ I’ve read mineral oil is probably best, thanks though!

This is great! My Dad gave me his Buck Jones Special in the early 50s. It was only about 20 years old when I got it. I shot it a few times before something broke. I have kept it all these years. I took it apart recently. Your video helped a lot! It answered at least one question I have had for 70 years! Some of the parts are now missing like the shot tube, trigger and compass.I hope to get it working again.

Brilliant and you took it apart, don't understand why people paint beautiful wood ❤

I have a feeling that this particular one might have come from the manufacturer that way but I do agree with you wholeheartedly!

Bombay Company made interesting-looking furniture pieces in the 1980s and 1990s. But they were very cheaply made and not built to last long. Hopefully your redux will last longer than the company anticipated.
