Great video Mr Fred, me and my neighbor and my girlfriend all have the rt45 PMRs white coloured radios powered by rechargeable AA bateries x3 and we cant fault them!

I just used the latest version of Chirp to programme some RT24s and it is no longer possible to change the frequencies or power. Those columns are greyed out. I reverted to an earlier version of Chirp and it was fine. Either the software has gone into full nanni mode or it's just reflecting an inbuilt limitation of the PMR version of the RT24. I'll have to do more tests to see if the old software is really increasing the power or not.

Thanks for the info Simon. Not sure really. I dont know any other 3rd party software other than Chirp but there might be others out there which work ?

Is there No little grub screw on the antenna? My RT24’s were advertised as having fixed antenna but was able to remove them easily.

I'm interested in these for myself and family when fishing. I think they'd be very helpful communicating instead of shouting at each other 🤦‍♂ That reminds me thinking of the fish, would it be possible for you to do an' UP-Date on how the fish in the Pond are doing soon? 🖖👍

I think these radios would work really well for fishing. Yes i will do an update on the fish on fred 2. Will have to wait a while though as ive got a green water bloom issue at the moment due to the hot weather.

i have one question, is this radio have small screw in antenna? i know that some retevis radios have "fixed" antenna by that screw, so basically You can change antenna after moving it.

Hi. The antenna is fixed in the radio. It does not unscrew. Ive not tried to force it but iam pretty sure its not an sma connector.

Antennae comes off and reveals mini sma original had a fine threaded mini screw at bottom of original Antennae. Antennae Antennae

I thought the antenna rule was changing so they could be removed? I cant see why the power cant be more either like GMRS radios just buy a licence no test to sit.

Ive not heard anything about the antenna rule. Currently they have to be fixed. However happy to be corrected.

Not tested that but my other Retevis radios have been left for months and they still have charge.

Personally i would go for the 646 unless you want a slimmer radio.
