I bought one of these 18 months ago. I intended to use it in the car but decided to get to know it by using it as my VHF/UHF rig at home first. WOW, it is far better then I ever expected. The receiver sensitivity is exceptional and both TX and RX audio is first class. I bought a second one for the car as I just had to keep this first one forever in the house. I can certainly recommend this radio...John EI2HO, Dublin Ireland.

Couldn't agree more. I only use it in the car but it's nice and simple to use, does enough and sounds great. Excellent value.

Great review, the radio looks and operates just like my anytone 778uv , great value for the money.

Yep. Same radio. They just churn them out and badge them up. Can’t argue for £120 though!

Enjoy! I'm loving using it in the car. Perfect middle ground radio when you don't need too many features.

Finally a review on this radio from some one who actually paid for it. Every other review I've seen has been tainted by a free radio from Retevis.

Nice review, thanks for that! Just got one myself (oh well, with an Anytone badge). Haven't connected it yet, but some of my HAM friends already have one in their car and they think it's absolutely amazing. These radios come very cheap over here in Holland. The common price is € 99,-- (No Ali, but at the official dealers). Thnx again and 73! Gert - PD0CT (The Netherlands)

Yes, I have this permanently in my car now. It’s the perfect middle ground between capable but not over-complex (which you just don’t need in-vehicle IMHO). Really nicely made and silent!!!

Great review Miles, and great detail too! Really considering this unit or one of its variants… quick question, what did you use for a mic clip, given that this microphone has a ring hook clip as opposed to the coin-style one. Thanks!
@tdcattech3 жыл бұрын
Good question. I don’t mind the use of a hook but I literally have nothing to hook this on in my car. I don’t want to screw or stick anything to the dash so I end up putting the mic in the cup holder! 😃

@@tdcattech I’m the same! I’m too scared to do permanently fix anything haha. But thanks for replying! I might bodge something that clips to the vents, almost like a coat hanger! Great review again chap, you’ve sold it to me!

If you're going to sell the car, the last thing I would want as a buyer is any permanent mark of fittings and fixtures. I avoid them wherever possible. Thanks for the feedback. It's a nice little radio. The lack of fan is amazing!

Hello, can you help me? I hesitate to buy an RT95. But watching your video, I notice that the power is not as advertised. I use UHF 400-430mhz. Do you know the TYT THUV8000D? they have the same characteristics, right? In practice, they seem identical? Also, it seems that the RT95 is a marvel. Thank you my friend. AL

Hi are you aware that this radio is illegal to use on PMR as it is multiband for Amateur use only, PMR can only use 500mw and the radio must only have PMR frequencies . See Ofcoms info for PMR, I am only advising so you keep trouble free as it is monitored.

Hi, I have just gained my Foundation, now M7BVK. I have just purchased the RT95, like you I was a little surprised by th size of it as you where. I have a very basic knowledge of radios etc. And would welcome some advice, firstly a power unit for it, I have a man cave in my garden with mains electricity. Any recommendations on a PSU. Also antenna, again any recommendations? I have seen on here someone using a car magmount with a metal base , no sure what you think of this? Any help or advise from you or your subscribers would be gratefully appreciated. Kind regards Pete M7BVK
