Good little radio, had mine for over a year. Done this back then but a pain in the backside when scanning it takes an age. There was a couple of out of band (local airport) frequencies I wanted to listen to and was able to program them into the memory with Chirp bypassing having to change the continental modes.

I am thinking of getting one or two of these. I have an Anytone D-578, it was in the jeep, now in my shack. Being able to use it for MURS and GMRS makes it the perfect radio for local emergency comms. - the 779 or the RT95 would do the same job, and since I am not really doing Digital there is no reason to have the more expensive model.

It cannot. When you expand the frequency coverage, the VHF starts at 136, the exact exit point for airband. Plus, that would mean adding AM reception to an FM-only radio.
