Prof. A.V. Shetty has calmly, forthrightly, n. scientifically spelt out what had/ has to be done yesterday ( rather than today !) . It's incumbent --- as a matter of survival --- that we demand of our city fathers to execute the measures he has painstakingly described. Enlightened urban planning must be implemented a.s.a.p. , if mankind is to survive.

The majority of people reside in one city, such as Chennai, which has a population of over one crore. However, tier 2 and tier 3 cities have not experienced comparable growth. It's imperative for the government to prioritize these cities to enhance the overall stability of the state or nation. Unlike in European countries where development is spread across various cities, Asia tends to focus solely on top cities, which needs to change to foster equitable growth and meet the needs of all people. Specifically, in Chennai, most significant investments are concentrated in one city, highlighting the necessity for the government to wholeheartedly consider other cities as well.

You have spoken about cities with metro scale there is also big towns like kodaikanal which is moving towards massive urbanization due to economic opportunities
