Problem is people would get stuck at the head, we are very boxy animals, the only way they could eat a human is feet first due to how the body tapers, retics are rarely ever imported anymore from the wild most are captive bred, and in captivity and in the wild one of the biggest reasons most snakes are killed by people is out of fear "look at me I killed big scary thing, aren't I so cool and brave?" This happens all the time and it's the biggest reason people will kill just any snake they see, or wish it died horribly, there was recent incident involving law enforcement purposefully and unlawfully killing someone's pet snake and they got no defense because it just a snake. I don't mean to say that spreading more fear of these animals was your intent, especially when this format seems to be how everyone portrays snakes. However I do like how you did at least mention although briefly, them being very protective mothers, they can be very gentle creatures and aren't looking for a fight, just trying to live just like any other animal is

Animals that never stop growing . I have a friend that got one 24 years ago it was about 9 feet long, it’s 23 feet long and weighs 255 pounds, Last time I seen it a year ago he fed it a live 120 pound pig and you could literally hear the bones crunching, sounded like a bowl of Rice Krispies snap, crackle and pop!!!

Yikes! I saw a video of an alligator crushing a turtle with its massive jaw and you could actually hear the shell cracking.

Thats awesome. The true giants are getting rarer in captivity despite retica becoming more and more common in the pet trade. Your friend is lucky. Too many people are outcrossing the giant mainland retics to dwarf retics these days. So the average size just keeps shrinking.

Retics are some amazing animals. One of my favorite snakes that I keep. They are massive predators in the wild, but as pets, they are giant puppy dogs. I love all of my retics. They are all very social and friendly snakes. Sometimes they can be in grumpy moods, so you always gotta see what mood they're in before you go to handle because a bit from them isn't life threatening, but it doesn't feel good lol. But one of the best pet snakes or pet reptiles you can have IF you have someone else to help you handle it(these bad boys can get up to 20+ feet and like 150-200 pounds)and you have the room to keep an enclosure large enough for them.

All snakes imo, are some of the most beautiful creatures on Earth! My half brother raised pythons. I had a ball python I trained to eat dead mice. My boyfreind kept calling it an eating tube. I ended up giving it to a pet shop. It was sold within one week. I would never attempt having or handling any large constrictors or any venomous snakes. 😱

Not sure why you explain the python coming into contact with an anaconda. It's common knowledge anacondas are in South America, reticulated pythons in Asia. Has something changed?
