I would never get bored in retirement. I would just have more time for all of my hobbies. There are so many places to see, movies to watch, books to read, videos games to play, people to visit and so on. How do people get bored?

😮 I'm assuming that your wife is Filipina; also, that you have perhaps $200K saved, and if you were military that you have TriCare. Whatever you're rolling with, take is slow once you land. Manila is expensive and full of tricksters, be careful.

Thanks for the video and advice, I know someone who worked for 46 straight years non-stop( 26 years in the military & 20 years as a GS civil service) and ending up dead in 3 months after full retirement including SS & Union. I don't want to be in that position. In my early 50's, in 2 years yes, I'll call it a career.

We’ll be Able to enjoy life with low stress, no debt, just living expenses and able to save at the same time. I’m also from RI in southern New England and my main worry is getting used to the heat. There are two types of retirement, those that worked for the government and get pensions and those that did not work for the government. I know a few people making six figures a year with their government pensions. Plus the healthcare is cheap or free? from the government. I did not work for the government and lost my decent job a few years before I turned 65. I needed to work to get healthcare, so I took a job at Home Depot, it was a horrible place to work but I had healthcare and had a heart valve replaced, the total cost was around 130k, I had to pay 5k. Many people would like to retire early, but most of them are government workers getting a pension after 20 years and free or cheap healthcare. The SS you will take at 62 is on top of your pension, plus you get cheap healthcare from the government, so you are set for life.
@dazeltv1351
@dazeltv1351 4 ай бұрын
It’s unfortunate that there are less opportunities now for pensions in the U.S. unless you work for the government. But, at least the U.S. has a good Social Security system, that offers a pension at 62. In the Philippines, most get very little from the government as far as a pension. Most of the elderly in the Philippines have to rely on their children to take care of them as they get older.
