I live in TUKWILA, WA! Single, 64, flight attendant but on medical leave from work injury for 1yr 7mo. Not sure if I'll be able to return to work but I have my full flight benefits. Always felt I should live on beach ( grew up in So. California and was at beach almost daily, feels like home but miss my WA port Angeles country home atmosphere, which I just sold.) I want the best of both worlds - beach and rain forest atmosphere with a comradeship with community. Love to hear from you as I'm wanting to relocate within 2.5 years. Want to get my yearly income up after I'm off of Labor And Industries Care to get my social security income up to a higher level when I'm ready to retire. I'm so ready to leave this state!

@synergy2222 Hi! Did you make it to Panama? I can relate to the part of your comment about wanting both worlds. My sister and I plan to move there June 2023 once I retire, and I'm going back and forth on beach and more mountainous area... it's driving me insane! haha I do hope you're living your dream in Panama and have healed from your injury well. Take care! Toni

@@tonirusso4112 hahaha,I'm sentiment is the same. I'm going insane researching both, the mountains and the beach. Not sure what I would like? I love the ocean but not sure if I can live there full time. Also would love to have a small farm with chickens, goats and possibly a horse or two. Therefore, the mountains would be the most ideal for me..But you gave some great advice, do the research, decide where you'd like to be and come visit to see what I like. I may totally fall in love with beach living. However, the milder climate of the mountains so appeal to me. But, one thing I know I'm sure is that, it's definitely going to be Panama.

Thanks for the videos! I’d love a video on what it’s like to move to Panama as a single person in their 30s/40s (not looking for work). I’d also like to know what the health care/insurance system is like....the whole health insurance for doctors and hospitals is a foreign concept to me (I’m Canadian). Does health insurance cover all medical costs, including care for chronic conditions?

Hi Lisa, It depends on the insurance that you get. But one thing is for sure, insurance in Panama is dirt cheap, probably because world-class healthcare in Panama is dirt cheap. I'll give you a good example: I knew somebody who was diabetic and said that moving to Panama saved his life when he lost his job in Oklahoma, ironically, working for an insurance company. He lived in Panama for as couple of years doing gigs and working online (a definite tax-free possibility in Panama which you can do without a work permit). Tidbit: It is Panamanian law that they do not tax incomes which originate from outside of Panama. Anyways, without insurance, his visits to the doctors and his insulin cost less in Panama than they did for him in Oklahoma where he had HMO insurance! Today he has insurance for catastrophic as a just in case, but he said it was dirt cheap. My sis recently recovered from a mini-stroke in February. She went to a public hospital in an ambulance, stayed there for a week and a half. Got 2 MRIs done and some x-rays. Was fed good food. She showed me pics and said it was yummy. Got lab work. Some of the results were even sent overseas for evaluation. She then complained when she was presented with a $570 hospital bill. Private hospitals will run you more. But you have options in Panama. And she said that she was taken well care of and that most of the doctors she saw also worked at the private hospitals. Just that in a public one you don't choose your doc. One is assigned to you. Also at her public hospital she was in a sick bay for 3 hours with 6 other patients after she left the emergency room. Then she was assigned to a shared room that she shared with another patient. At a private hospital she would have had her own room, but the level of care (MRI included) was professional, competent and good nonetheless. And she's asymptomatic today after having been partially paralyzed, so they must have done a pretty decent job. lol But don't just go by me, ask around. The series this video belongs to includes videos with personal testimonies of others who have experienced the Panamanian healthcare system. So far, all have been positive testimonies both regarding price and quality. Oh, and the singles scene is really hopping as well as for every taste. There are oodles of videos on that. If you're not looking for work and are far from retirement age how would you support yourself? ...even though I know of a million and one ways you can support yourself via online jobs that would pay more than enough to keep a roof on your head, food on the table and even spare change for transport and entertainment. I know several doing just that. Hope that helps.

What's the rent like for a studio or one room home near the beach?
@PanamaRelocationTours4 жыл бұрын
I know a fantastic furnished one bedroom right for $325 next to the beach near Las Tablas and I know of furnished one bedrooms for $900 a month near Coronado... so the answer is, it depends on WHERE in Panama.

@@PanamaRelocationTours Bless you. I just want to live by the ocean borderline "Beach Bum" style. You know, a beach shack, a hammock and a bottle of tequila; c) Seriously though, 350 is excellent. @@AlanHirschenhoferII I definitely believe you've found the right place then. I recommend Las Tablas over Coronado as Coronado is becoming too touristy. As an writer believe you'll appreciate the peace of Las Tablas better, plus it's almost 1/3 the price and food is dirt cheap, even liquor. A care free life so all your muses won;t run away and you can write prose till the cows come home. lol

Can anyone move to Panama and work in Panama. Could you start a swimming academy. Is there any jobs for Biokinetics. We are from South Africa
@PanamaRelocationTours3 жыл бұрын
There are not many jobs available for foreigner now. You can start a business IF it is not a protected profession that is reserved for Panamanians only. You'd need to talk to an immigration attorney in Panama to determine if you could do a swimming academy. And, you'd need to be fluent in Spanish for most businesses in Panama.

@@barnmonster888 Well, for one, they're not letting anyone in. Lots of people are dying form this "fake covid" so far, 1,160 people have died in Panama, but Panama is a bit concerned about the over 142,000 who've died in the U.S.. To add some perspective, that's nearly the same amount of people as those that died when the U.S.A. dropped two atomic bombs over the populated cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. One wouldn't be able to jam pack the largest stadium of all times with that number of people. Imagine them all dead. Panama values human life so it's being cautious. But once it's safe again it'll be a good time once more. And I just read that there are some vaccines that are starting to show some promising results. I am wondering where all the noisy roosters, music and neighbors are at??? I live in Panama in the 80's Curundu. I graduated Balboa High School which has since closed when the military left. I have lived in Boquete, Bocas Del Toro (my favorite) and Puerto Armuelles. What they don't tell you is that every time you move you have to tell the Magistrate's office and get permission. Also the suicide showers suck, water outages, power outages and everywhere you go someone is trying to sell you something. November is by far the worst time to go because of the holiday and Independence celebrations. Trucks selling fruit, veggies and meat will come to your neighborhood on a loud bullhorn letting you know what's for sale!!!Noisy noisy, noisy... Noisy roosters, early morning fireworks and late night parties until 4am are very common. You can hear all of it!!! if you want peace and quiet, you can rent in a gated community or get a Finca=farm. Most Pensionados will move around until they find the right spot. yes it is cheap, but what are you willing to put up with??? Maui and all of Hawaii is crazy expensive and the Hawaiians hate the haole's. if you want to live in S.America.....don't be a pinche Norte Americano ...Learn Spanish...just saying!
@PanamaRelocationTours5 жыл бұрын
None of the problems you had before exist IF you know how to find the right place to live - which is exactly what we teach people during a PanamaRelocationTours.com Our tour clients don't have suicide showers, don't have roosters or water outages, etc. Things have changed a LOT since the 80s. You don't have to tell anyone if you move to a different location. But you do need to have a VISA if you want to live in Panama indefinitely.
