OMG Chris! Those prices are close to prices in the states! Half the point/appeal of Thailand is to spend 1/3 of what you spend in the states. I mean, I guess these videos are good for some of us that are moving soon as maybe the prices that you’re showing will help scare away a bunch of people that have never been. So I guess this is a appropriate Halloween video. It’s not spooky, but definitely scary prices….
@jeffryan726211 ай бұрын
Which prices are you referring to? The first place, HOMA Phuket is 18,000 baht for a one bedroom which is about $500 usd! Where can you find a one bedroom for that much in the States?
@chriscorleone356511 ай бұрын
You can’t compare with the prices in The US. A normal worker in Thailand makes 300 baht a day / 8 USD, if he/she even has a job. There are way cheaper, nice options on Phuket.
@TomBedlammusic11 ай бұрын
That homa spot is $510 per month. You would 100% pay at least three times that in the states for a place that nice with those amenities... So yeah, 1/3rd the price is about right

For all the “Cheap Charlie” people who think $652 is too expensive for a 1 bedroom apartment, there are thousands of apartments for $300/month in Thailand. They don’t have these cool amenities, interiors, furniture, views, high speed wifi, or cool neighbors. They are ugly and boring to watch on KZbin. Kudos to Chris for showing a fresh new approach to apartment living…a place that’s very appealing to young people working remotely 👩🏻💻 or building an online business. Awesome stuff! 😎
@baconoverflow438411 ай бұрын
It is very expensive for such a tiny space IMO. I live in a brand new modern 4 bedroom townhouse in BKK and pay a little over that ($744). I've been to Homa in Phuket when I was looking for a place to rent, thinking I could use the coworking space instead of setting up a home office, and it was extremely crowded...
@tvtriviachampion11 ай бұрын
@@baconoverflow4384 Pool, gym, paddle tennis, etc are better than average amenities, and there’s a premium for proximity to excellent beaches, but I respect that you have actual experience in Thailand 🇹🇭. Your place in BKK sounds great! I think it would be more helpful for people to post locations they think are a better value option instead of just whining “too expensive” and offering nothing.
@baconoverflow438411 ай бұрын
@@tvtriviachampion I would do but I don't know any in Phuket anymore! 😁I only lived there during covid, and Homa was one of my options. I didn't think it was good value for the price (crowded coworking space, location a bit random). Ended up in a 4* hotel in the heart of Phuket Town for 10k/month for half a year which was a very nice experience. But sadly covid prices are over so I don't have much to contribute.

Homa in Phuket is charging over market. You can get bigger for less with a long pool and a gym. I have to laugh - Homa wants to create a commune atmosphere for footloose 20 to 30 somethings, but the residents are basically a domesticated herd. They plan to milk contented cows. It's a good idea, really.
@DarthTrader70711 ай бұрын
Wow...the jig is up on Thailand being a cheap place to live. Maybe it was the Chicom money that ruined it, but those prices are no cheaper than you'd pay in the Bahamas or even the Cayman Islands (I'm not talking about the shoebox units you showed at the beginning...I doubt you could find places that small in those two places). Not at all. And, the apartment you showed at the beginning would be considered expensive in my city in Canada....Calgary. Not the micro apartment prices, maybe...since you couldn't even find an apartment as small as the first two you showed. I get the amenities and that the idea is you'd spend most of your time out of your room, but those first two were like the rooms you'd find on a cruise ship....no reason at all to be that small. But, that 2 bedroom, smaller than 800 sq feet for the equivalent of about 1700 Canadian would be pretty typical what you would pay in Calgary....there are buildings here more expensive than that, but 1700 for a condo, far from the beach....it's just not a price you would expect to pay in a third world country (sorry, Thailand...that's what you are). Might as well stay closer to home, in Bermuda or the Bahamas. The house where you're staying is super nice, but that is obviously an airBnB idea....it's 35000 a month. Crazy. The big house was nice, for sure, but there is no beach access from it...even though it's hanging right over the sea, almost. And, the quick show of the menu you did at that Homa restaurant showed that breakfast cost $13.50 Canadian. So food on the property isn't any great shakes of a value, either. Very surprising, really.

Extremely misleading video, if you promote videos like this, you should advise that these prices(refering to the HOMA DM project) are at a 75% plus premium for living with other DMs, the fact its brand new, the extra facilities and other extras, that guy was selling. A similar sized unit with similar facilites in Phuket is circa 10,000b month, and you can get cheaper/better deals with a 12 month cash upfront contract, Ive lived and rented all around Thailand for over 20 years, help your subscribers out by telling them this, its a fact!
