Historian and tiny house advocate, Shorty Robbins, built a Victorian-era cottage on wheels. It provides a window in the past, a darling living history example. Shorty’s now full-time tiny home, “Nawaka,” is an excellent tool for her favorite pastime, historical re-enactments. ✨ While it highlights 19th century Florida pioneer cabin life, it is full of cleverly tucked away modern conveniences, like A/C, a solar generator and a TV. The most ingenious (and historically accurate!) feature is Shorty’s piano bed!

This was definitely the most creative tiny house I have ever seen! When she said her granddaughter slept in the loft, I couldn’t figure out where she slept. When she started messing with the piano, I thought no way!! Many kudos to her for creativity!!!

I LOVE this tiny house! What a lucky girl her granddaughter is to have such a cool grandmother! I would LOVE to travel to civil war reenactments and events. I am a huge history buff though and being Scottish that means taking my kids to every castle and battleground in Scotland!

She is adorable, just like her home. Reminds me of my first house. I owned a Victorian, built in 1888, complete with a huge turret & several antiques and paintings. We loved it but located on a busy road and just not a good mix with young kids so we moved. We really miss it. Truly a unique experience to have lived there.

I love this. Usually when we see people having unconventional living themes, historical or otherwise, you can tell that they're really detached from reality and sacrifice their personal comfort to be accurate to the lifestyle. This lady however, is not in denial that she's in the modern world and does not sacrifice comfort for authenticity. She doesn't scorn technology and instead combines it with her period themed home. She's amazing and I wish I could visit her lovely home

I love the lanterns that you can raise and lower. So cool! I’ve been sewing since I was a young girl. I’m now 58. I love your antique sewing machine. What a great way to hide the TV. When we bought our house there was an old iron that looks a lot yours laying in the flower bed. Ours is rusted but it’s still cool. My husband just died on 12/29/2020. This four bedroom house is way too big for just me. I’m serious thinking of a tiny house. All the Victorian ones I see are two level. I’m disabled so I can’t do stairs. Oh my gosh I was not expecting the piano to turn into a bed. This style would work for me. Thanks so much for sharing

She stays true to that time period while also incorporating modern touches that are cleverly hidden. ..that dresser turned into a cabinet was amazing. .loved how hidden the little loft is. .adorable ..teenagers dream. ..and the smart tv..lol. but you really blew my mind and my eyes popped out when I saw that bed roll out of the piano. . Very clever. ..I loved the time period kitchen but in reality I would have to do it more useful if I had to live in this tiny house every day. .I kitchen with proper sink, stove and fridge. ..also a tiny bathroom would have to be installed. ..that's a must! I forgot. ..the water hand pump on your porch. .I loved that. .reminded me of my grandmother's old homestead. ..she had one outside in the yard and also one in her kitchen. ..as a child I loved using it. ...
