Now my little one recognises you as "the former Ewok executive" (Ewoks is their favourite cartoon atm).

I was gifted an old Mac Pro and used Hackintosh techniques to update the version of the Mac OS, but could only go a couple of generations before hardware checks kicked in. I switched to Ubuntu on that machine - it doesn't care what it's running on.

My FAVORITE Mac video was when you predicted the modular 2019 Mac Pro, with all of the paper and scotch tape Mac minis stacked on top of one another. I practically pissed myself watching that! But the real irony was that all these years later the Mac Studio is EXACTLY WHAT YOU PREDICTED! You are a true pioneer, wherever you go. I love everything you do because it's always humorous and informative. Keep it up!

🤔'Drunk acerbic Scottish movie critic'? It was great to hear you talk about the evolution of your channel, but when you were 'geeking' out and going into the details on your computer builds. I guess I came in post Hackintosh. My computer needs are significantly less, it would appear (I'm not a gamer). I do have an iMac (late 2015) with a 27" screen. It was/is one where...get this, the USER can upgrade the RAM! Recently, I swapped out the original 1TB HDD for a 2TB SSD and it is like a new computer (and then some). I was considering a new iMAC but they aren't making the 27" versions (or larger) anymore and these old eyes aren't getting any better. I'll stick with what I have, for now. I have definitely enjoyed the Former Network Executive posts as well as your sister station aPauling News. Keep up the good work!

I was not expecting a Hackintosh vid, as one of your newer followers, but its good to see the evolution of the channel. Luckily, I understand the tech side of things in this. If Windows gets any worse for me, I'll probably go to Linux. With Microsoft (like many) going hard into AI and useless tools that are more security breach prone than T-Mobile's network infrastructure. I'll likely go to Linux if they don't course correct.
@PaxAlotinАй бұрын
Re going to Linux - you won't regret it. I've used Linux alongside Windows for a while - till I got used to things. Now - I mostly run *Linux Mint* with an occasional dip back into Windows. It wasn't as steep a learning curve as many said it would be - so why not try ?

I found a good way to cool PC's faster by simply adding another fan on the outside of the case. You line it up with the regular exhaust fan on the inside and TA DA! You have a turbocharged exhaust. I recommend the one on the outside of the case have a higher RPM than the one inside. I promise you that you won't need to turn on the heat in the room either.

The first thing I do when I get a new computer is install Linux. I used a MacBook Pro 17" for a while, and it still sort of works, but it developed a problem where it displays horizontal red lines on top of everything, which is very annoying. The Mac shop wouldn't fix it because it was too old and they wanted me to buy a new one. But they no longer had MacBooks with 17" screens. So I ended up with a Toshiba Satellite instead, and it has served me very well for years.
