Using a tape measure has always been a good option for a retractable web shooter but have you tried using a motorized system that way you don't have to reload every time and you will be able to get the string off if you do it correctly plus I'm working on a pressurized hook so ill be able to hook on to anything and not just metal making it small is an issue but can be solved if done correctly.
