I am young at 45 and although this music was around for just a few years when I was a child I remember it as mind numbing and part of another era. Flash forward and now it is some of my favorite stuff.

I would listen to this upstairs with the family, then downstairs in my room it was the BeeGee's, ELO, Steely Dan, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Earth Wind & Fire, Kool and the Gang, and the like. My disco faves were as bitterly hated by my siblings and peers as my elevator music. I still love it all.

Nice! I used to run "Lovin' An Elevator" at Live 365 and still run a variation on my local cable TV channel, recalling WVNJ-FM & WRFM in the NYC Metro. Glad to see I'm not the only one who appreciates this for the art it is. Kudos!

Thanks for ever beginning this channel. It reminds me so much of being a kid in the late 60s. I would hear this music in dept stores while shopping with my mom, and my dad would turn on a local radio station on a huge bench-style stereo and listen this music as he read his Bible. I work from home, and listen to your channel every day

This may be canned music, but from a musician’s perspective, there’s some real playing going on in these recordings. As a bassist myself, I’m hearing some pretty complex musicianship, reflecting the style of the late 60s, early 70s. I played Nevada casinos, from the 70s through 2005 and this music was always being pumped through the house systems 24/7. Sure, it’s hokey and dated, but it brings back a flood of pleasant memories when I hear it....

When I was a older teen, somehow I liked hearing the "Beautiful Music" on FM, as I despised 1970's pop "music" especially the "Big Hair" arena rock bands. And I knew of Muzak but until I stumbled across it HERE, I knew NOTHING about Seeeburg and you know what? I

Slowly, softly, cast adrift a cerulean sky...... .. distant dreams of ephemeral days, and nights alight with moons reflected in our eyes, as we wait and wonder, of what life has but surely become..... something of grandiose intent? Of anguish or discontent? The winds of time to hath swept away our longings from the past and kept its secrets deep within our hearts, as in thereof, such musik which forever remains a part of who we are and once were before....

@@Fardemark that is dumb, it's an abandoned audio format and should be archived by the federal government without a third party intervening for clout or profit. Were these individual songs created especially for Seeburg or were they actual commercially released?
@Fardemark5 жыл бұрын
Some were seeburg exclusive, but most of the music from the 1966 and onward library were from artists such as 101 strings and Music De Wolfe production music.
@PneumatinisPlaktukas152 жыл бұрын
Most tracks (like "Lida Rose") were arranged and recorded by LA session musicians specially for Seeburg. They started licensing songs from other ochestras/production music libraries only later in the life of the BMS.

@Fardemark5 жыл бұрын
Yes there are Christmas Seeburg records. I only own one and there are only 3 Christmas songs out of the whole 1 hour and 20 minute run time. I think Seeburg wanted to make sure the Christmas atmosphere had no repeats so you would need to own a whole set of Christmas series records in order to have a bunch of Christmas tracks mixed in.

@@Fardemark Thanks for the insight. There's a Bossa Nova type song about Love or Girls make the world go round. I thought it was by Burt Bacharach but I can't find it. It's upbeat but still elevator music. Do you have any idea about a song like that?
