I admit, if I had known I had to do so much configuring I probably wouldn’t have ordered the Retroid Pocket 2+ but now that I have thank god you posted these guides. I don’t know what I would have done without them. I saved the videos to watch later but I will also utilize your written instructions as well. Thanks again. Much appreciated.

Yeah, especially in the case of the PS1 stuff. Like, it should NOT be that complicated to have basic analog controls on PS1 games...at least for the ones that had analog on release.

@@PixelCat I got the 280v a little over a month ago, and this hour of setup videos is making me very glad for my choice. Maybe in the future the Retroid 2+ will have an image like Adam that makes it easy, and that will be when I consider it! But honestly, I would need excellent GC/PS2 emulation to justify buying another retro device. I’ve grown extremely fond of the 280v in such a short time. But either way, thank goodness for this channel!

Here’s another vote in favor of an arcade/MAME tutorial (pleeeeeease! 🙏). And if you feel so inclined, other oddballs like DOS, C64/128, and Amiga (to name a few) would be awesome topics as well. That said, your existing body of work is already a fantastic contribution to retro gaming. Many, many thanks and a tip of the cap to you for that!

15:20 on my original GPD XD I found that that just putting the opacity of on screen controls will mess with touch controls since it's still there. Just invisible. If you go into the actual virtual pad editor thing you can remove the buttons and save that. I think I recall a vid where you had problems with the touch screen with drastic and I think that may of been why.

For psp you can set the CPU clock to between 181-200 and 2 x resolution, auto frame skip of 1 and set the full screen with a linear resolution filter at 2 x and I had every game run at 2x with little audio stutter and gameplay was smooth with only GoW having a few effects not showing properly but every single game I played was at 2x including outrun 2006. The only game I had to play at 1x was kurohyo Ryu ga gotoku which is full of bugs and issues even my phone has to run it at 3x when run games normally at 5x. Awesome video as always.

Yeah you could increase the video resolution, the only problem is the screen resolution itself is smaller than let's say putting the resolution to 1080p. It would just look not right, or it would stretch the screen further than it's supposed to. Making the game you play cut off on the sides of it. Sometimes even zooming the game in. So might as well just keep it as default. But if you're plugging it into a TV or monitor, you could most definitely change it to the resolution of your choice

I'm having a weird thing going on where the M64 app is not recognizing some of my inputs when setting up the controller. It would make more sense if it accepted all or none of them, but for example it will recognize up, left and down on my dpad, but not right. the other emulators on the 2+ recognize it just fine so I doubt there's a problem with the device itself. I can't find anyone online who had the same problem, so this is kind of a Hail Mary here to see if anyone else experienced the same, or better yet has a possible solution. Love the videos and guide, it really helped me get the most out of my Pocket 2+ so far, so thank you.

I've been blown away by the performance of FPse on this machine. I couldn't get the other emulators to give stable PSX performance. But FPse is basically running everything I have at a locked 60 (though I did have to tweak a few settings). It's not free, but it is really cheap... That being said, I don't know the history of it or if there is any controversy.

I find it to be a good emulator too! It's sad that we have to question the authenticity of Android emulators...it's an indication of the emulation environment we have on that platform. As far as I know there isn't any controversy with FPse.

why would you turn favorites off? That's a very helpful section to have because you can place the games you are actually playing in there for easy access.

For anyone that has ".cso" files for PSP, Retroid launcher will not see them. You can however change their file extensions to ".iso" by just renaming it. I didn't think this would work as most of the time when changing a file extension doesn't help....in this case it did. Also as far as the issue with the Retroid launcher taking you into the Aether menu and not the game directly, I find that to happen a lot more with DIG front end. I actually like the Retroid launcher, they just need to add more systems and themes.

Personally I would love to see a video about some Android games that pair well with this device. In particular I am interested in how it holds up with Sonic Robo Blast 2 and Sonic Runners Revival

Note for Drastic, High Resolution Rendering will break some games (Dragon Quest 4-6). So if a game isn't working, try turning that option off.

You said in the previous video that you can disable the retro arch right side bar menu (that thin white bar to the right). I don’t see that in setting. Do you know where I need to look?
