I just got Ring of Pain yesterday and it is fantastic. Very difficult so far, but the bad runs are so short I don't really care if I fail and the good runs are nuts. This one looks good as well. Put it on my wishlist immediately.

You talked about how to describe the game. I think we could simply say a tile laying roguelite...which theres not that much weirdly. I havent be conflicted this much by a game for ever lol, being a bing fan of tile layer boardames and roguelite, in general, but not particularly being a fan of «I'm sorry Jon» content I dont know how I feel about this one. In the end, I think, the production quality will win me over.

Exactly my thoughts, did it have to be winnie the pooh themed and in body horror genre? this could've been completely different and more alluring but I guess RoP devs really want to turn this genre into their signature.

Could be because of the nostalgia that people feel when it comes to whinnie the pooh? When you couple the familiarity of a beloved childhood intellectual property with the unnerving feeling you get from the body horror, it just hits that creepy pasta/urban legend kinda spot that makes a story so interesting! I can not wait to find out the lore behind this game and the story they are trying to tell!

I had to pause to go try myself. OMG this game is crazy good! Very excited. These devs are nuts and super innovative. Edit: Oh you also happened to miss one of the cooler features. One of the grid upgrades lets you extend any of your tiles by one block. Relevant for both fights and dungeon crawling.

I LOVED ring of pain, beat the game on nearly all difficulty’s with both endings with all the starting relics so to see they’re making another game is amazing. Honestly this game creeps me out more then ring of pain ever did, while ring did have some creepy enemies this one makes me feel on edge. Body horror is something when utilized good is terrifying

You can really see the art similarities from ring of pain, which I like. This game is a super strange frankenstein mash up. I feel like the trend of games recently is to take two games and smash them together. Feed the Deep is Dome Keeper and Dave the Diver; While this is Tetris and insert roguelike here. Anyways, thanks for always covering new and interesting games.

Seeing the title "Winnie's Hole" was just like, "Oh great. Another really dumb Winnie the Pooh horror game that's just gonna be a drug trip more than scary." Then I saw it was made by the Ring of Pain devs and it immediately had me intrigued. With them it's still drug trip central but at least there's a high likelihood for things to be actually good.
