Oh this game is very addicting once you get a hang of it, watch out. Since you were confused about your luck being "D". Luck is a mechanic that increases a chance an item drop will level up (so go from a Pokeball tier to Greatball tier, from great ball to ultra etc.) and increases the more shinies you have in your team. So yes, shiny Pokemon actually have an important gameplay purpose and the shiny gacha is the best to play!

I dont see anyone saying it in comments yet, but if you press your esc key you can go into settings and also use your egg vouchers via the egg gacha. Also you had a purple outline around treecko, that's a sign of pokerus for additional exp

One important thing to note is that floor hazard and stat changes are stay between wild battle, so if you got sand attacked by 1st stage mon on the 2nd stage you will still have you accuracy lowered. Until your pokemon _comeback_ to the ball.

I saw other people check this out recently, and the first time I saw it, my brain said "Oh lord, Reto is gonna love this." Pro tip, set up moves (Swords Dance, Shell Smash, etc.) persist between battles until you recall the mon (which happens at the beginning of every trainer battle). Hazards (spikes, stealth rocks, sticky webs, T-Spikes) stick around for 5 battles.

It's probably because pokemon has a higher floor than generally rouglites and that you need to use the rouglite effectively to get to where incredible pokemon knowledge matters

​@@Almethese84 as far as I recall and understand, checked again just in case, there's no fair use in Japan. I'm not sure about the legal international jumble that comes out of a person in another country with fair use launching and distributing material with their Japanese IP on it but they have in several occasions sent cease and desist notices. In fact, they even took down KZbin videos over their stuff before because KZbin would have to defend themselves individually in each country without fair use laws. TL;DR, maybe yes but maybe not, historically often not

Sleep normally lasts a random number of turns (1-3 in Gen 5 and onwards) but Rest is special and will always put you to sleep for 2 turns. Any idea what the purple box around Treecko and some of the other starters means?

The purple box means the Pokemon starts with pokerus. Pokemon infected with pokerus gain more experience

This fangame is amazing by the way passives once unlocked are secondary abilities that are just there for that pokemon evolution line at least if you pick it at start (bosses also have that pokemons passive but lose it once caught sadly)

oh don't worry, my views are terrible across the board the last month, this is my 2nd highest viewed video of the week which is itself sad for a different reason lol. The first few episodes of Hades 2 were obviously good but everything else dove off a cliff, I'd say this did well enough for another episode at least.

Luck is related to the odds of the pokeballs that have items in it after each battle, upgrading to higher tier balls thus giving you better items. And this is where shiny pokemon come into play, shiny pokemon in your team increase your luck stat, thus giving you better chance of getting better items after each battle. In this game each pokemon has 3 diferent shiny variants, normal, rare and rogue. Normal shiny pokemon have a luck value of 1. Rare shiny have a luck value of 2 Rogue shiny have a luck value of 3. Because shinies are kinda important in this game, the shiny egg gacha ends up being the best option.

Great first run retro ! Thank you for making me discover this banger of a game ! I’m actually blown away by the faithfulness of this roguelite regarding its source material. Also, I really appreciate the use of the mystery dungeon soundtrack ! I would definitely like to watch some more runs and I will definitely try it out as soon as I get the time ! Also, some things to know if you decide to play more 1. There are 200 waves in classic mode, it will take a little bit to get through them all. 2. You can turn up the game speed in the settings to make things go faster, along with turning off the stats notif on level up, this will make the game much faster if it feels slow. 3. Some moves/abilities aren't fully implented! If you see an (N) next to something that thing will not work at all, if its a (P) it will work, but not fully. (eg. Incinerate(P) wont burn berries, Retailate(P) doesn't deal extra if someone died last turn) 4. The luck stat is only improved by shinies! This gives them an actual purpose other than "haha funny colour go brr" 5. You can stack as many berries/held items as you want on one pokemon! This game gets really tough, especially if you choose to do it without retries enabled, i hope i get to see you play more of this!

I am the type of pokemon trainer that tries to keep their pokemon at equal levels (or close to) to avoid my strongest mon dying and then not being able to do anything. Though I did notice that the style of the fights would make it difficult to do so (as ivysaur was your only mon at 18 after being the focus of EXP), I guess double battles as much as possible. This looks really exciting though :D

"definitely not need a zigzagoon" You will change idea after learning a few things xD (or find someone better with the same mechanic) Also, double battles are a way to get more exp quickly if you need it or have a good combo (like earthquake and someone qith levitate or is flying)

So erm, how do you actually do anything? I click the stat screen and suddenly i am unable to get off the stat screen as its all keyboard controls with no instructions lmao, cant see any move descriptions or anything ingame until it comes to swapping at which point you've wasted your item. Fun game but needs work
