Great review! Thanks! I agree with everything you have said with regards to the difficulty. I'm at the last level with Ash, and have also completed the Halloween game. I love playing the game, these side scrollers are my fav and the devs have nailed a seriously great game, but I have second thoughts about picking up the game again as my rage was ferocious last time I played. That said, it is a fine line in thinking it is bullshit difficult and the devs are EVIL for making it so hard , and that we just have to learn the pathways and patterns. Some parts, like the platform bits you mention on the 2nd last level I find reasonably doable but other parts, some bosses for example...super hard.

Seems like a fun abd fitting game for the Evil Dead franchise. You having to wsit for a boss to laugh at you to hit him is a reference to Shao Kahn I think.
