Unless you're dedicated to being an "Indie" filmmaker for the entirety of your career, it will consist nothing but writing propaganda pieces and lowest-hanging-fruit bullshit. I'm all for having dreams and all that, but I'm also one of those "be careful what you wish for" types. As a film-maker, you can't make the films you *want*. You can only make the films that make money, otherwise you'll just end up as another homeless guy in Hollywood. A large portion of the homeless population in LA were aspiring film-makers and actors that fell through the cracks.
