Great job Martin. I'm also a Transit fan and had a long wheel base smiley face hitop, 60mph was comfortable any faster and you went deaf, now have a long wheel base hitop mk6 55plate and she's my pride and joy. Keep it up fella ;-)

That blue turned out real nice. As always I say lay on that clear coat, make that finish shine. I was thinking, maybe if you could come up with a logo for your shop what you do, you can make some decals at home and put them in place on this van, you can put it in a clear case, and carry it around with you, sort of like a calling card.

I found in one of my boxes of cars a police transit, same sort of year but weird as it just says Made in Gt Britain on the base and no makers name. The "ambulance" is what they would use to take deceased people away discreetly, they took my ol' mum in almost identical transit when she passed and I think they are called that as a mark of dignity more than anything. BTW I have been playing with me Vix bits and def recommend and cheap as chips too, the Caravan Cruiser I have been "learning" things on has smaller rivets and it made punching 'em out a doddle and keeps your drill centred without walking. Think I paid £1.49 for four bit set off ebay. I was just looking at my displayed ones and I keep thinking of sending you a Peugeot 205 GTi Rally car made by Corgi, as they were the logical choice from the RD125LC's I seem to remember :D
@retrorestore5 жыл бұрын
I have a few corgis to restore as well Ian in shocking condition, I'll show them in my next unboxing video this week.
@dodgydruid5 жыл бұрын
@@retrorestore Look forward to it m8, I have noticed with the Corgi's the details are much nicer, I got a 1960's Bedford ambulance and the detail level is so fine compared to the Matchbox equivalent. I'm keeping an eye out for Space 1999 and UFO vehicles like the Shado and the various Eagles which were epic back in the day :)
