Hey Rick! I can’t believe you’re going to be in Pasadena for a show! This might be my first game show I ever go to! Word of advice. Huntington Beach to Pasadena is like a hour drive if you leave during traffic it could easily be a 1 and a half to two hour drive.

Don't throw anything out. Even if it's a controller or gaming system that's slightly busted. Chances are even if you won't use it anymore, someone out there is still probably willing to pony-up a little cash for it. Even if it's not full value due to condition, some money is better than none! Especially for something most people would call "junk". We can't let these retro systems, games, or accessories be tossed. We need to preserve physical media of all kinds to the best of our abilities. I applaud Retro Rick for both taking a stance and chance. And I hope he is able to reap all the benefits making such a smart move entails.

My friend who also runs a retro gaming store would collect broken consoles and controllers and sell them in bulk lots. There is a small chance to recoup some money from broken items but if you are buying in small lots the loss of profit often isnt worth it.

Dude, I'm in your boat. I work a full time career job, 40-60hours a week (11am-730pm) and own 1/3 and help run a Collectibles Shop. There every Saturday to put my time in. Plus everything that goes with it when I'm not at my career job. We've only been open since Labor Day Weekend of 2023. In that time alone, I've packed on at least 15lbs. Some peeps say I look better. I don't know. All I know is that it comes with the territory of the lifestyle we are trying to achieve right now. Video Games, Collectibles, and a full time job. I used to repair wiimotes (mostly from bulks lots from Japan) and about 80-90% are broken from battery corrosion. The others were most likely sensor failure.

Rick, alternate art V cards are usually worth more than rainbows and gold cards. So definitely don’t skip over the V’s! Once you’ve seen a few you’ll be able to tell the difference pretty easily, the alt arts have texture on the card and the regular Vs have a flat shiny finish

the grid on ebay usually has random lots of controllers, consoles, games all for sale. theyre located in NC for example theyll have a lot of misc lot of like 20 controllers for around 50$ sometimes untested or listed as not working or even just a lot of 3rd party which of course are less.. or theyll have a lot of 100 untested/scratched games which are mostly wii and like 20+ copies of the same game.

I am not gonna go into the complete backstory of Betty Boop, but here is a little trivia. Actress Mae Questel started providing Betty Boop her voice in 1931 and continued through 1939.
