This band is truly the definition of timeless. Clairvoyant feels like an album that exists outside of time, the songs are so well written that they just don't age. It's like the best example of quality over quantity. And the fact that they can reproduce these songs live and sound so close to the record is just incredible!

i don't like to talk about my feelings but fuck... since 2010 this band has taken me through many crazy periods of my life. I cried so many times while listening to them, searching for myself, the people i've lost, understanding the meaning of my life. each time “the contortionist” was there to chase away my darkest thoughts. my life has been stable since then, i've learned a lot now that i'm 30 but everything seems grey and aimless. it's harder to feel the passion of life. i guess that's what being an adult is all about. but every time i go back to listen to these guys, it hurts terribly to think about the past but at the same time, i can feel the colors again. just... thank you to make me feel alive again

There's a lot of music out there. But there's literally nothing as all encompassing as this... Most criminally underrated band of our time.
The Retrospective sets deserve so much more praise and recognition. The collection is my favorite set of recorded live performances to come out in recent years. I can't decide which set is my favorite, and at this point, I think I prefer these live performances over the studio recordings. All of the small alterations that each musician makes to each song complement the music in such a seamless way, and creates such a fresh take on songs that I have listened to so many times now. It is on repeat in my Spotify. The production is phenomenal, the directing and editing are impressively executed, and it is all to table some of the most cohesive and gripping music in the genre. Well done y'all, the work is an inspiration to musicians like me.

If I had to nitpick, my only tweak would be to add crowd cheers in-between and certain moments. Don't recall if these were live tour shows or not haha. And one other thing would have Mike do those legendary high-pitched screams he used to do on Language II: conspire, I remember those 2 particular screams he would do on that song would get audible gasps from the crowd EVERY TIME, but I'm sure it did a number on his voice over time hence why he might not do em anymore. But this is me just being an asshole lol this is essentially *perfect*

I love them all but I just don’t think we’ll ever get anything better than #3 and, specifically, the high water mark of Geocentric Confusion. I’m not sure that’s ever going to get topped in my eyes for any live performance of any band in this genre. I get chills no matter how many dozens of times I’ve watched that set.

How you manage to create amazing compositions, garnish them with technical mastership without getting lost in the sauce and make them highly emotional engaging, just pushes all the buttons for me!! Thank you for staying true to your artistic vision and by that, kindle me with inspiration! Greetings and best wishes from Hamburg, Germany.
