Few tips I remember from the old one that I'm sure still apply, if you'd take them: -There's two type of citizens you see around, basically. Roamers, which are the ones that "spread" goods or services around where they walk. They spawn (green arrow spot) and just go randomly in a direction, and choose a random direction every intersection they find. You wanna design the roads/roadblocks so they have as little chance to miss their objective. For example, having T junction with a little cul-de-sac instead of just a 90º corner, can make the roamer go to the short road, and when they go back they might just choose the road they came from, leaving whatever buildings were on the other road totally unserviced. Have MANY T junctions, and your buildings can easily devolve, take fire, or collapse even though they are nearby the relevant service, because their paths just rely on randomness and it's not reliable. The other citizens are the ones that just have a specific objectiveThey will just go there in the shortest road possible, and ignore roadblocks too. Like for example the inmigrants that come to the city, they are going to THAT house, or the carters carrying goods to some storage. You can rely on carters going through roadblocks so it's not that important if you have a roadblock blocking "the shortest path" form the granary to the bazaar :P The bad part is that any working building sends "roamers" to check for employees and they need to find houses, so you can't just leave the production buildings entirely separated from the housing :C But it's still good to limit as much as possible the chances of them being "lost" in many intersections Also, roamers just roam for a set amount of tiles, when they reach max distance, they just go back to their building (aiming for the red spot), again ignoring roadblocks or whatever. So you can use this to make neighborhoods designed in a U shape (with roadblocks blocking the top part off the block) but still have the little road connecting the two prongs of the U, basically making a rectangle and roamers will usually cover the whole distance from one prong to the other, and when they run out of gas they'll just go back through the shortcut! I don't think you need to optimise so much by doing this kind of weird stuff, but usually it helps to keep roads blocked and making straigh lines or rectangular shapes without any roads going out, or at least the bare minimum necessary ♥

another tip is that recruiter needs to visit atleast 2 houses to fill the position, you can have them close to the industry, instead of creating big slums so they dont affect the level of housing in city as

You can actually leave production & industry seperate from housing now as they have the option for a global labour pool in options. It's a little different from the original in that you don't rely on recruiters anymore, you just need to have the population to cover the amount of jobs created.

This is fantastic! I remember this game so fondly from my childhood and I can sooooooooooooo relate to your glee when you clicked on the market lady and remembered her dialogue line. One point of note - the hunters throwing arrows at the ostriches is a little distracting as you can constantly hear it even when off-screen. Not sure there's a way to fix that but just wanted to throw it (pun intended) out there

Sadly, for some reason the developers of this remake decided to release this as the buggy mess that it currently is. (Kinda reflects the "release broken, fix later" mentality that currently dominates.) I love that this series gets an new release. New blood gets to experience this masterpiece of a game. The praises end there though. First of all, the difficulty is just broken. Build a couple of temples, bast somehow donate all the food needs of the folks. (Classic version might get you one blessing /year, after about 3 grand festivals.) Features such as an actual military (was not good in original but better than the fxxing Victoria 3 version.), minimap? (how is this not an feature?), and the last reason being: Why play this mobile graphic game. Instead, buy the original from gog, and download the fullscreen mod, and voilà, better graphics and no bugs.
