While BelAZ is awesome starting dumper for mining industry with its 25t capacity, it's painfully slow at 35kph. Tatra might have been better choice here though indeed, it won't last as long because once you're done with using BelAZ for construction, you can always "retire" it to mining, where it's ideally suited. Meanwhile Tatra will eventually be retired by bigger and faster trucks, but will keep being suboptimal for niche applications too. Tl:dr technically you chose right, but it'll be painful watching it go to customs and back.
@MiguelAbd6 ай бұрын
But if the Tatra can't move at twice the speed with half the volume, how is it better than the BelAZ? I don't really understand that,
@TheArklyte6 ай бұрын
@@MiguelAbd 1)slow vehicle block all vehicles going behind them; 2)there's also the road to the source of the resource which both trucks make empty and having double capacity has no effect on making that trip more optimal; 3)buildings don't have precise resource requirements that match either truck. You will need to make multiple trips with either one. BelAZ is ideal tool for small stone quarry though as that building has no internal storage and can work only as long as there's a truck ready to be loaded.
@MiguelAbd6 ай бұрын
@@TheArklytethat makes a lot of sense! Thanks for explaining it. I think I might switch to the Tatra with all that in mind.
@TheArklyte6 ай бұрын
@@MiguelAbd don't. Better load empty map in creative and try which one works best for you. I'm still on the fence about those, but idk what methodology to use to calculate the optimal range and required loads these trucks. Maybe I'll post some better info once I test it... yeah, in like 5 year time🤣

This game has a surprising amount of depth and the level of detail is very impressive, good to see that the devs are actively improving the game and adding more content. Talking of active devs another game that's surprised me recently is Songs of Silence, the early access version just came out and I've been playing it a lot. At first I thought it looks fantastic but the gameplay seemed rather simplistic but then realised it uses unlocks as a main form of progression. There's actually 120 unlockable units and 80+ spell/battle tactics that you can use, some that even control specific formations to override the automatic nature of the battles like 'Hold the line' and 'charge'. There's a lot of hidden depth and complexity here I think. Can't wait to experiment more with it.

This developer has created an absolute diamond but i just cannot get excited about this DLC. It goes against everything that is concrete and cold which makes this game soooooooooo good. On that very same note though, i cannot deny , i will throw money at everything they create in future. Just for the very simple fact that they have restored my faith in the gaming industry after MANY years of disappointment.

The main reason I'm hyped for the 1.0 release is the inclusion of proper tutorials. I've dabbled in the game before, but the complexity is so daunting, I get overwhelmed! It'll be nice to finally have the ability to walk through the mechanics step by step, and actually learn how to play properly!

honestly, the way this game is granular really sets in many marxist concepts on the value of labour, and the way primitive capital is generated and used in a society.
@leonamvonborowsky75596 ай бұрын
I think it should be more transparent about this things through language, maybe its something the developers themselves didnt even notice. I still dont know if the Soviet aspect of it is satire or a genuine interest on the devs to show a urban and rural development from a communist perspective

Thing I like about this game is that unlike some other city builders research isn’t literal research. You are not colonizing a new planet, this is Earth, you also aren’t the biggest or richest cities on earth. The “research” amounts to actions more so than discovery. You survey your landscape for oil, you influence the east or west for a new customs house. While not always action over discovery, I like this a lot. It research in games never makes much sense imo, and this game does it very well
@oldylad4 ай бұрын
Also, you probably know by now but using construction machinery like excavators and cranes makes the process of construction waaaay faster

lol you got it by the end. The excavator does the same for the groundworks phase and some of the other machines are very useful when you start making asphalt or gravel roads

@Pancoleon6 ай бұрын
Your video is how I've just found out there's going to be a Biome DLC and I'm very excited to see more of what it has to offer! Heads up wrt the Dumper: the 25t capacity dumper has a max speed of only 35km/h, aka dirt road speeds. Bc of that it'll slow down other vehicles behind it on roads and its double capacity travels at half the speed of vehicles that cost a third of its price, so those dumpers usually are more value for time & money. IMO they're not worth it early game or for long-distance construction, but are very useful for hauling quarried stone from gravel quarries to storage or processing plants bc you don't really want to bother paving the roads up to the quarries regardless. EDIT: ALSO! For the cranes, excavators, and bulldozers: Excavators and bulldozers can work without any workers and can do the groundworks phase of building construction. That means you don't need to import workers to lay gravel roads or do the groundworks and only need to pay for expensive labour for the later sections such as brick laying. Cranes meanwhile don't do anything by themselves but, as you saw, massively increase the rate at which workers complete construction phases so you can get more work done with fewer foreign workers. If you want to micro your construction industry, you can manually assign construction offices to worksites and only assign a crane + bus office to work sites once the groundwork is done.
