Their objective is to train the local populous to be able to fight for themselves, help farmers grow their crops, and even educate children. They will hold some areas. Even before the war the Taliban did not control the whole country. From the perspective of US politics the war has been a total loss. We are now desperately trying to negotiate the same deal the Taliban gave us before we entered the country. We will probably get a worse deal than had we never invaded. But on the other hand Afghanistan is actually a better country than before we entered. Its still filled with poverty and human rights abuses. But the poverty is not as extreme as before we entered and the Taliban have actually moderated to a degree to gain acceptance in a somewhat more education society. This is kinda the opposite of Iraq. In Iraq we did eventually achieve the political objectives. But in the process the country was set back at least a couple of decades.

The concept of preparing a nation's forces to take care of it's own is great. Such a disappointment when traitors in their midst disrupt the process by attacking coalition forces.

Because the politicians are lazy asses who would much rather spend money on themselves instead of dragging our equipment out of there and decommissioning most of it and storing the rest.

Worked at all three of those first named abandoned FOBs Ghazni, Airborne and Shank. Such a waste, especially Shank and it's five mile runway.

Great vid with an excellent topic. However, maybe a bit better annunciation, I lost your narrative a number of times when the background sounds overwhelmed it. It's interesting to watch professional soldiers at work when compared to what amounts to s national guard. I enjoyed this thoroughly, thanks from a Canuck.

AR or M4 are very fine tools. They do get a bad wrap as not being as deadly and accurate as 762 NATO.... I'm in no way trying to sound like a MARSOC or Green Beret but aren't the 556 NATO more for CQC in a AR or M4? or even a SBR? And 762 NATO (308) more of a hard hitting long distance round? But as i'm building my 2A skills here in rural Nevada, I did come to find and like 556 Green tip, 62 grain @2:44 for my civvie M4 FNH...
