Gans did, in my opinion, an exceptional job directing the first SH film. There are scenes in that movie that have stayed with me for well over a decade. Yeah, it has its flaws as an adaptation, but the atmosphere and baroque imagery alone make up for that. For me, at least. So I do have faith in Gans to make something memorable with this one. Can't wait, honestly.

Fun fact: We French-speaking people learned of the production of this movie (and of the othe4 SH games in development) months before the Silent Hill Translation because Christophe Gans had talked about it in a French interview before.

My only concern with this film is that you make everyone else but the main character look like their video game character counterparts. The girl playing Maria looks like in game Maria. Laura (with her hair pulled back) looks like Laura! So.... what happened with James. The costume looks great, but the hair. This is just me nit-picking as a SH2 fan. However, I can look past this if the movie ends up ends up being good. And I'm hoping for that. ❤🙏

Pyramid Head is Silent Hill's manifesting of Cloud Strife because during Mary's ark all he could fantasize about was Cloud. Silent Hill 2 is about his overcoming of that guilt.

People will definitely hate me for what I'm about to say... But I don't like how cheap Maria wig is, I get that she's supposed to be look off putting, but that wig is a sight for sore eyes. I also feels like this movie will incorporate the cultist into the story, rather than something more personal like game. Mostly because I see how Angela look in the teaser, she look really far off from what she is in the game and more similar to the cultist girl from the first movie, She looks dusty and dirty. so I feel like she will be rewritten more as a part of the resident, rather than someone who come from outside like the game, specially if they follow the background of the first movie... Which would be the problem of itself. So yeah... In short, I had a really low expectations for this movie, but I'm still really interested.

It’s probably for character/personality reasons, so they chose a wardrobe that would be more obvious visually. He is still mourning the death of his wife and the game does heavily imply he’s a recovering alcoholic so maybe thats why they went with the more disheveled and unkempt look

Should've kept the design for James but changed Maria. Movie fans wouldn't know the difference, but fans of the games would at least have their protagonist. This would be better imo because even the design for Maria is bad, and you could tell they tried to stay closer to the original for that one.

It looks too much like SH1. It's very horror focused when in truth, it's supposed to be more weird and Lynchian. The visual horror here seems to sorta clash with SH2 and fit more with SH3 or something.

I would have been more hyped for that, if we wouldn't have had the remake of the game lately. ALSO, I think with a movie adaptetion of Silent HillS this would be a hole other talk. For better or worse. Some might still be bitter about Silent Hills never seeing the light of day, but presenting at least the story to us, would have been nice. Well, but maybe it's just around the corner.

We can only hope that Konami will someday continue the Silent Hills game, but it's been a long time since they stopped working on it, when Hideo Kojima left. IMO he should've stayed until the game was finished instead of abandoning the development, like an idiot.
