It's not Raphael that made clayman evole it's the voice of the world . Raphael just copy how the voice of the world sounds but this is away for u to know the difference. On my rimaru can hear Raphael while everyone can hear the voice of the world . Examples when rimaru was becoming a true demon lord it was the voice of the world that was talking also when the sacrifices were being made

What the animation didn't reveal is Shion possess perfect memory which makes her immune to mind control, and because of her insane healing ability she is basically unbeatable in physical combat

Milim has been playing Clayman since before they were introduced in season 1. While she is childish she is still very intelligent. Her going to Tempest in season 1 was to have fun and meet new people, but also to protect it. No one was going to move openly against Tempest if they knew Milim was there. After Shion/Benimaru/Souei/Ranga attacked Milim(to protect Rimuru), Rimuru challenged her to a 1v1. Her condition if he lost was he had to become her subordinate, which would of protected Rimuru and Tempest. She took a draw because it gave her honey and a friend instead of a subordinate. She got a bestie, so basically everything she wanted.

Meanwhile the "Great Sage" which is now evolved into "Lord of Wisdom-Raphael" since Rimuru's evolution to True Demon Lord, is like Rimuru's personal Google assistant. When Rimuru got the "Great Sage" skill, "Great Sage" copied the voice of the "Words of the World" in order to communicate with Rimuru. That's why they sound exactly alike. The "Words of the World" just informs you when you get a new skill or evolve. It doesn't answer you, and doesn't carry out operations like Analysis, Thought Acceleration, Parallel Processing, Cast Negation, etc. So they're VERY different.

The words of the world was just confirming his temporary awakening, the same way it confirms when someone gets a skill or evolved. Sort of like the "You caught a Pikachu" notification you get after you catch a Pikachu while playing a Pokemon game. If you watched Hunter x Hunter, I have a good analogy for you. Spoilers from HxH ahead What Clayman did is similar to what Gon did in his fight against Pitou. The Words of the World confirmed the success of the process.

Votw granted skills, give an announcement about some event, and sometimes assist when someone evolved. In anime Votw speak when Mikami satoru dead, When Orc lord evolved to orc disaster, When Rimuru acquired unique skill Merciless, and Rimuru harvest Festival, there's a off-screen testiment too when Shougo acquired Unique skill "survivor". So no spoilers. First thing first, I keep seeing people reacting to this and forgetting who "Black" is, it was said before, don't remember what episode it was but Diablo is Black (Black Primordial Noir) while Guy is Red (Red Primordial Rouge), Second thing, Clayman isn't weak, he is weaker than other demon lords such as Guy and Leon but he isn't weak. He just got destroyed cuz Rimuru and everyone who serves him got boosted after he evolved and they became just much much stronger. Third thing, Clayman used the same magic he used on Milim to try and control Shion, that's why he said that it can even control a demon lord since he wasn't aware of Milim not being controlled. However when Rimuru evolved to a Demon Lord, Shion got "Perfect Memory" skill, which makes her immune to mind controlling abilities. (Rimuru meanwhile has Raphael to prevent any mind controlling abilities directed his way.) And last thing, I see people confusing a very big and important thing, Raphael did not do that to Clayman at the end, Clayman forced himself true sheer determination to "evolve" but it's only temporarily. The voice you heard was "Voice Of The World" which basically acts as the world admin and announcer, Raphael (or Great Sage at that time) just copied that voice for easier communication with Rimuru. (Notice how when Clayman "evolved" and when Voice Of The World talked the background was blueish unlike Raphael's Orange one.) They did change few other things (or didn't explain it well) but this is everything important that you should know and was left out, if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Good Job explaning. I'd say an unawakened Clayman is roughly at the level of Carrion and Frey, maybe a bit weaker. In the manga, when Clayman awakes Carrion states that neihter Frey nor himself could handle him. I think a reasonable place to put an awakened clayman in terms of power could be well below 2nd generation demon lords such as Dagruel, Dino and Valentine. Leon, tough relatively new to the demon lords, is also definitely stronger than him.

His demon lord seed didn't sprout yet and is unlikely to happen any time soon. Great Sage needed a way to be able to communicate with her master so even before Rimuru got reincarnated, Great Sage copied the Voice of the World. Anytime a new skill is acquired, it's the Voice of the World that's speaking, not Raphael. Raphael only answers to her master Rimuru and nothing else.

Shion after evolving into an Oni and getting Master Chef is so on Karion's level. She might beat him to be honest.

In the anime, for some reason, they use the same voice, which causes a lot of confusion, but they're actually two different characters. :)

Its not that Clayman is weak, its just that he is in a room of people who are the strongest beings in this show (with the true dragons being the only things stronger). Also Shion is very strong. Saying oh clayman is weak undermines that she is actually alongside Benimaru and Diablo as one of the strongest under Rimuru. If Benimaru was there he could probably get mind controlled, Shion can't cause she possess perfect memory. But that aside Clayman couldn't match her. In the web novel the author had Benimaru even state when it came to combat Shion would most certainly win if they fought. In fact out of the trio she excels when it comes to physical/ close up combat. And her Unique skill- she is actually very dangerous.

Raphael did not awaken Clayman as a Demon Lord. It was the Voice of the World that pretty much controls the world Rimuru is in. Basically if you remember the first episode, when Rimuru was dying, he was hearing the voice of the world and after saying that he wanted to become a great sage, he was granted the unique skill of the "Great Sage" whom we now know as Raphael. Another example of voice of the world speaking was during Rimurus evolution to a Demon Lord. It is sort of confusing though because they have the same voice actor. But its more apparent which is which because when the voice of the world speaks, the game-like visual we see for VOTW, is blue while Raphaels visual appears like a gold sort of color and is exclusive to Rimuru as his Ultimate Skill. Since we don't hear the VOTW often, its easy to mistake the two.

If you remeber in the first episode when rimuru died as a human when he was getting reincarnated he heard the same voice, when he was getting all the skills. Okay Clayman wasn't weak just the weakest Demon Lord at this point Rimuru was already stronger that's why he could break Claymans spell so easily and also Clayman knew he was the weakest that's why he wanted the Orc Lord and why most of his abilities were centered around control. Milim is veldoras niece remember the story Eren told Rimuru the story after the attack on Tempest she's the daughter of Veldanava one of the four true dragons. And as far as power levels Rimuru told Benimaru to get a report of all the skills that the people of Tempest recieved it just wasn't revealed, but as you've seen they are all stronger to where Shion is even with an unawakened Demon Lord.

Clayman is only a demon lord in name. He was never awakened as a True Demon Lord. He never went through the Harvest Festival because he didn't get the required 10,000 souls. The awakening he went through in this episode is a Sudo-Awakening. Basically, Voice of the World converted the souls he did have into power and transformed his body into a vessel adequate enough to contain the power. So basically he still isn't a True Demon Lord. Clayman MAY have been able to beat Shion before she died and came back. When she, and the others, were brought back to life they got a skill that makes it so their minds can't be manipulated. That's why he can't control her no matter what he does. Shion is also, pretty much, immortal. No matter the damage (even decapitation) she will heal.
