That's it! That's exactly it! You have captured the dream and are living it. We are connected to the earth and the earth to us. We rejoice with planting and harvesting and we grieve when one of our plants dies. We live in the present and we are complete. Thanks for a beautiful video.

I'm in the UK, and also lucky enough to live in an area where Chestnut trees are abundant to forage from. It's something that I've done since I was a child, with my Grand-parents, and then with my children. Now, my eldest son does it with my Granddaughters. There is a recipe for cooked chestnuts, steeped in Brandy. They make a very excellent Christmas Cake!

When me and my family first realised that there could be another way of life outside of the one we all know, it was your story that truly got us inspired. The knowledge & passion you demonstrate is magical. We have now got the house on the market & have a plan to travel Portugal for a year living and working with like minded families like you. Absorbing the expertise and stories of others, with the goal to buy some land and begin our own journey into the simple life. Thank you for showing us what is possible.

Hello that's it's a beautiful life as a kid I grew up in the remote country side and were able to get everything done by ourselves well my parents!! And I remembered every detail of that part of my life happiness was always there! The food was delicious and abondante but the most important thing was the freedom we had as children no fear around us at 55 today I have been blessed with mother nature and I encourage you to carry on with your style of life your family-friendly surrounding areas is so deeply full of true life !! And you speak french too bravo.

Moreno...the hard work you and your family have done are producing beautiful results! It is fun to see the vision that has been in your mind come to life with each video that I watch. Your commitment to a more peaceful life will provide for your family for generations to come. It is definitely hard work but to be tired at the end of the day from a full day's work is a different kind of tired than living a life that beats you into exhaustion. As always, thanks for sharing your journey with us. Blessings, my friend.

Those processing orange caterpillars you showed a brief clip of are Pine Processioanry Moth caterpillars. Somewhat invasive (although where you are looks more like their natural environment) - very dangerous caterpillars if disturbed! Keep children and dogs away from them as their hairs can cause very bad skin rashes and breathing problems. You can become sensitised to them meaning your rashes get more intesne and last for longer the more you are affected by them. Stay away, stay safe
@lizschultz1

I'm pleased you mentioned them as I was going give a warning. Sadly, many new to being on the land in Portugal cut all their pine trees down because of them.

Wow! You are doing an amazing job! Its my wish to live a simpler life after living with abundance and still not totally happy. I like the quiet sound in nature but my husband loves the convenience of living in the city. I dream of waking up surrounded with trees, fresh air and the rising sun. Maybe someday ill get that somewhere. The crackling sound of the fire is very soothing. I think it's good for the soul. Thank you for sharing the nature surrounding you! Its heavenly! ❤🙏

Could you please make a video about the economic in doing what you do. But in my opinion it is important to understand that this lifestyle is not for everyone to pursue. What are the costs of the land? Crops, trees, services (building stuff) Costs of taxes and insurance? And what are the income? Where does that come from? How much are you in debt? How much do you have over for travel and social activities?
@JamesG1126

Why should they disclose this information? Figure out your own costs.
@jenbear8652
@jenbear8652 Жыл бұрын
@james. They obviously don’t have to disclose financial information, but it’s fair to ask. Especially because he was very open about costs & financials of starting & running his market garden previous to buying this property.
@Joaquim_Conde

One can understand why someone may ask this question, but consider that they are clearly talented, confident people, who can do all kinds of things on their own. Disclosing their budget and financial resources is not going to help most average person take on such a project. Courage is perhaps more important than money here.

Would love to know how you're able to afford all of it and and how you're managing all of the work whilst having the kids with you probably full time, right? Certainly our main struggles in making something like this work. Plus planning permission... Is it easy to build without getting into trouble where you are? All the best to you and good luck with everything, especially throughout the winter! Much love from the UK xx
