The point of quarantine is to keep people separate, if one of you get infected on flight, the other person will also be infected if two of you stay in the same room. I envy you guys so much, I am stuck in the U.S. and cannot go back to China, I really really want to but no flights available. I hope I can be tested, but here the testing is so limited, you cannot get one even if you are sick but not sick enough.

Girl, you are safe. China is now the safest country in the world. The epidemic prevention measures there are the strictest in the world. Once you have passed the 2-week quarantine period, you can resume your normal life and travel to any city you want. Hello Kaisa! I am Chinese , my girlfriend is French (not married yet because of the coronavirus outbreak) and we are stuck in France for almost 3 months although we only planned to stay for 3 weeks. Since China shut its border, my girlfriend with a Chinese Work Visa is not allowed to enter China at this moment. We rent an apartment in Shanghai and we do not have home in France, so we have been paying Airbnb for almost 3 months. We have contacted Chinese consulate general in many cities in France as well as Chinese Embassy in Paris, but they didn’t want to help us and just let us wait until China reopens. Honestly, god knows when they will reopen. Do you think the fact that you two are married helps you get this exception ? Could you tell me step by step how you managed to get attention from the Consulate General in Finland and persuade them to help you? Thank you so much! and we love your videos!

Hi Pandarin! I am sorry to hear about your situation. The travel ban makes life really hard. Unfortunately us being married has nothing to do with my Chinese visa. I am not on a spousal visa in China. I am not sure, if spousal visa would be a solution to your situation. I think the only place to get the answer from is the Chinese Embassy or Consulate. If they do not reply, then maybe their website or the website of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs should have updated information on who can enter China despite the travel ban. I’m sorry but I will not go into detail about my visa status since it’s related to my work and I don’t want to discuss my work on this channel. However, I’m guessing that the situation might get a bit easier after the 两会 which starts on 22 May. You might want to follow closely what decisions come out from that meeting. My best guess is that they will not lift the travel ban before the meeting but there might be some changes to the travel ban after the meeting. Also, some international airline companies have announced that they are planning to open flight routes again to China in June, which might indicate that the airline companies might know something more about the entry rules than what is told in public. Nevertheless, these are all my personal guesses, better to check with Chinese authorities always the most updated information. Hope you will find a solution soon! 👍

I believe it's related to Kalsa's work. The announcement says for necessary economics, technology and humanitarianism needs, you can apply for a new visa. Honestly, this description is really ambiguous. Maybe you can get the employer and local government to help your girl friend prove her work is essential and indispensable. I've read the restriction will not be lifted in June.

We got on a special flight arranged by the chinese consulate General in Dubai, and flew to Shanghai from Abu Dhabi on 16th May 2020, right now we are in 14 days quaratine. well I'm not sure about the situation in France but in UAE the Chinese Embassy and Consulate are really helping, they dont give you the exact date, you need to fill the form or write an email to the embassy or consulate indicating "YOUR CURRENT SITUATION AND DIFFICULTIES DONT FORGET TO ATTACH THE PASSPORT DETAILS, VISA AND ENTRY STAMP PAGE". they will contact you once they can manage something out. So thats the situation in my case ,hope this may help you. We also did stayed in a hotel for 2 months in Dubai. . . . . the good part is the govt of UAE is supportive as well Wish you good luck!

Good to you know you are safe and back! I landed in Wuhan on 21st January, 2 days before lockdown, was supposed to stay with my parents for a 2 weeks Chinese New Year holiday and back to the UK, where my wife lives currently. Lockdown was lifted in Wuhan until last month, and I am ready to fly back to London this or maybe next month.....for my wife and also for my work.... Just....hope....UK handles it well by the time I fly, regardless of my scheduled 30 hrs+3 transfers flight from Wuhan to London, all direct ones are cancelled where we used to have 5 direct ones in between per week. For the record, I will never do this only for the mentioned necessary reasons.

I was quarantine for 2 weeks after returning from New Zealand to Singapore in March. The day my quarantine ended, the circuit breaker was enforced the next day. Sorry to hear your other half cannot join you. Soon it would be over. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Circuit breaker(CB) is a component used in electrical system once there is a fault in the system this CB would trip, i.e. cut electrical power to the system preventing the system from further deteriorating. Until the fault is corrected, the power would be restored by resetting the CB. It is an analogy used to describe the present health crisis, Singapore is not in full lockdown but there are restrictions placed on the people like social distancing, most business closed, we can still get out to supermarket and exercise but not allowed to gather. We cannot visit friends or relatives during this period.

Gweilo60's wife tried when they were also quarantined in separate rooms just across each other and got warned. There are cameras around, you know. You will get through the 14 days quarantine. Just get creative. Share your thoughts with your viewers each day as you got through. That will also keep you occupied. Delicious looking lunch, quite familiar to us Chinese Malaysians hehehe. There are many many nations eat dogs, cats and even something more strange to most of other people. And only few people in China eat dog. Koreans seems like dog meet much more than Chinese (not all Korean), I do not lest dog though I am Korean Chinese. I just wonder that why eating dog make you more angry than seeing people eating pigs and caws, shouldn’t all animals be equal? Just admit you simply hate China, don’t pretend that you are some kind of animal protector, that just make me feel so uncomfortable.

Hi Bianca, unfortunately China has not opened the borders to foreigners yet. If you had your visa suspended, it is still suspended. I recommend you to contact your local Chinese Embassy to find out whether you could apply for a new visa under current visa regulation.

We received a text message before the flight that we should download the health QR app before the flight and report for 14 days. However, we bought the flight tickets so late that there was less than 14 days left until the flight. I contacted the airline company beforehand and they made arrangements so that we could board the plane despite not having the app before the flight. In Shanghai we had to download several health apps tho.

Yea, you’re right, there is still a general travel ban for foreigners in China. However, there are a few exceptions to the travel ban. I have a valid visa so I could enter China.

Hi Nina L, you are right, the air conditioning was not allowed during the first week. I guess due to recent changes in the local regulation they finally allowed the air conditioning during the second week of quarantine. Now it’s a lot more comfortable when it’s not constantly above 30 degrees hot in the room.

I’m sorry to hear about your family. 😔 There still is a general travel ban for foreigners to enter China, but there are a few exceptions to the rule. You can find all the exceptions listed on the website of the Chinese MFA. I have a valid visa and that’s how I could enter China. I don’t want to go into details about my visa since it relates to my job and I don’t want to disclose anything about my work on my channel. I hope you could be reunited with your family soon and hopefully they could get quick recovery!

It’s not possible to visit China now. They have very strict rules for traveling, only very few exceptions to the travel ban. But hopefully the situation gets better soon and you could come to visit China with your girlfriend soon! 💗
