Before the servers went down earlier this year I managed to solo MH4U's G rank and get to play the last boss with a few peeps, which was something on I'd had on my bucket list for a while. I love this game to death, it wasn't my first but still my favorite Monster Hunter with the best story, cast, comedy, one of the coolest flagships and final monsters, and definitely the best guild quest giver no contest! I miss being called doodle T_T

Started with Tri, but man… 4U was something special. I love the 3rd Gen games, but 4U was the game to play non-stop. It was a shame that my hands would cramp up playing, even on the N3DS XL. Playing it now on a certain application with a controller is making me enjoy it even more than I did previously!

@@Chilledtiger One thing to note, if you need to lock on to a monster, you can set up the touch screen in the Configuration settings and have a certain part of the touch screen be tied to a button press. I have my lock-on on the bottom left the touch screen and have my L3 button as the hotkey. It makes hunting a breeze now instead of manually turning the camera.

hahaha, awesome vid. i havnt watched this guy before but he seems pretty C.Blade Savy. Fun bit of Trivia for all the C.Blade nerds out there; you can see he attempts a Gaurd Point at 1:11, but for some reason it fails. ya see, back then you couldnt do it from a blocking stance. instead, you would have to push both Buttons R + X at the exact same time- if you pushed R even a few frames earlier then X, you would be considered "Morphing from a block" which would play a different morph animation with no GP. pretty silly right?

Don't forget the egg quests! 😃 You Love The Egg Quests! 😃 Seriously though, I started 4 back up (to kill time while I figure out how much of a live service wilds's gonna be) and'm having a blast with it. The only downside is that the food scene gets censored in emulation for whatever reason. You can't see Shit. Anyways I'm gonna try and actually get through the entirety of g rank this time.

If on citra you can get a “cheat” to get rid of the blurry cutscenes. It will also make the rest of the game look way better. YT deletes comments with links so can’t share that

My first MH game, coincidentally reached HR999 and spent possibly nearly 4k hours while still not getting the relics and charms I wanted. Was my only and main game at the time, simple times. Lvl140 was truly the end game grinding. Which MHG, MHW and MHR releases lacked and felt "incomplete" I haven't played the expansions and only getting back to mhw and this time with iceborne soon.

hold down and spam x to do an aed instead of saed also you can deliver items from the item pouch when in the camp in pre world games. instead of going to the red box.. unless its an egg quest cuz egg quests are egg quests.

Aside from relic weps/armour, this game is peak. I don't mind that 140 GQs are brutal, I just hate that they tied unique weapon and armour designs to them, and basically made those drops the best weapons in the game. It's really annoying, this is MH, not an MMO. I don't even want to know how much effort it would take to get some of these full relic sets with 5 matching pieces and somewhat usable skills by yourself. Sounds like a nightmare.
