Returning to the RETURN of the ANCIENTS MOD!

In this Subnautica MODDING Video, I'll be returning to take another look at one of the largest and most anticipated mods for Subnautica, the RETURN OF THE ANCIENTS MOD! If you're a beginner or even a more experienced player this video will interest you a lot!

I'll be covering the RETURN OF THE ANCIENTS MOD primarily the stuff I missed as I have covered the mod already before! Specifically I'll be covering the JUVENILE GARGANTUAN LEVIATHAN added into this mod, I'll be hatching a baby Gargantuan Leviathan and doing all the other things that I missed the first time I covered the RETURN of the ANCIENTS MOD! The Return of the Ancients mod also adds a brand new fabricator with a large amount of new buildables for you to mess around with, new equipment, vehicle upgrades, and also Adds in the LARGEST LEVIATHAN in SUBNAUTICA, the GARGANTUAN LEVIATHAN! the way you get into the thing with the green tablet is, you use a purplr tablet, they just used difrent colors

@geeknupthenight - Yeah, the same thing happened to me. This mod DEMO is ASS and buggy AF!!! I've lost a 12 hour game. It was saving just fine until the mod corrupted itself and started moving the Garg to places it shouldn't have been. When I finally went to the second alien building in the mod to get the egg, the scanner heads were missing and the egg was NOT there. People are bitching up a storm over on Discord about how buggy this sucky mod is. I see Crimxsen also experienced the bugs in this video, but he didn't say anything about them (Why, Crimxsen?) The Garg just disappearing from the screen is a BUG. The Garg just popping into view suddenly is a BUG. (this is what is being told at the Discord). And did you see how the electric eel zapped him near the door and the graphics for the door disappeared? ANOTHER MAJOR BUG! They call it 'deloading' and according to them it shouldn't be happening. The corrupt mod even deleted all of my Gun Island buildings and all the trees and vegetation. This mod is TOTAL ASS and not ready for play even as a demo. So...BE WARNED if you try it.

I didn’t say anything where? Usually whenever I find bugs in a mod I call it out so hopefully in the future it’ll be fixed!

Sorry to hear about that lost 12-hour gameplay. That sucks! But we've all been there...at one point or another. I could give you pointers on how to do a targeted reset on the affected area but that requires tinkering around with the command console options and then mucking around deep in the Subnautica files to delete certain files to force a game-level reset. Most casual gamers don't care to do such things as they can get complicated...and I agree, gamers shouldn't have to do such things. When games and mods, such as RotA, are that bugged, they just aren't worth the trouble. And since this is a Lee23 mod, something to outright be AVOIDED!! He has a history of making mods not-previous-save friendly, thus forcing a new game.

There should be threee categories of Gargantuan Leviathan. -Hatchling, not that big and defenseless. For population control -Juvenile. The size of juvenile void Leviathan which is the result of survivalibity -Colossal. The Apex predator. The undisputed King of Leviathan.

ALPHA-build DEMO!! All of the story elements and progression have been stripped out. Basically, all you get is the added fish (Garg) swimming around and some added resources. The buzz over at the Subnautica modding discord is that this will NEVER be fully finished. They've been working on this since 2020, yeahhhh...FIVE YEARS, and the modders keep saying they are going to finish it but they never do. So, if you're looking to start a fresh game with this mod, DON'T! It's an unfinished demo mod...nothing more. If you just want to see the Garg swimming around, open an existing save and drive around in your Seamoth to find him.

@@jaroessa294 Yeahhh! FIVE...FREAKIN'...YEARS. I'm a vocal critic of such mods that jerk people around with grandiose promises about release dates and content (FCS is another one). I sincerely don't look for this mod to ever be released...and with Subnautica 2 on the horizon, if RotA DOES get released, it will be TOO LATE as everybody will have moved onto the newer game with a better, newer engine. No one will even give a finished (haha...riiighhhttttt) RotA mod a second look.

The ghost leviathan constantly grows when they go out into the void right? According to the lore at least so I wonder what the largest sized ghost leviathan would look like compared to the gargantuan’s monstrous size
