You are so lucky to have each other for support and companionship. I have been a solo traveller all my life because none of my friends are very adventurous. A couple times I've travelled with a friend to places like Vietnam or Canada, but that is rare. I've been though extremely stressful border crossings in Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia and Cambodia so I know how that feels. I just loved how you were both missing each other so much. It was all so genuine. We could see how stressed Leanne was being on her own. But also see how brave she was. I loved how Dan was missing his wife's company and that was so sweet. Again everything was so genuine. I felt for the both of you and wished you reunited exactly as you planned. Regarding the car lights during the day - yes, it's normal in Europe to have them on all the time, having them off is considered strange and not nice. They do help with visibility during the day as well, just having the sunlight is not enough, because in some conditions the visibility on the highways is not that good and lights help with that.
