I use Cantu twist and lock gel as styling gel . I like that it has natural ingredients and has a very thick constancy which lays my edges . And smell is wonderful and it’s very conditioning and has a medium to light hold

I use Cantu gel kids for my children, it moisture and brings out their wavy and curly hair pattern. I also use the lock gel for myself. I love the smell and the way it looks on my retwist.

I love Cantu twist and loc gel. It was the first one I ever used since I started my locs almost 4 years ago. A little goes a long way, and it never left build-up on my locs. I know ORS brand is popular among loc wearers, but I didn't care for it. The gel was wet and drippy and didn't hold my twists well. The Jamaican lime gel, I threw that one away. I only use Cantu's loc and twist gel, and I also love their moisturizing creme shampoo.

I use this product for my Twists. There's no flakey build up. I like the hold and my hair doesn't get frizzy. 😃

I am natural with very thick 4C type hair. I use Cream of Nature products to wash and condition my hair. However, I use Cantu moisturizing twist & lock gel and Cantu leave in conditioning cream on my twists and braids. I also use black Jamaican castor oil. These products together leave my hair soft and not too oily. (I don’t have any problems with buildup).

I have semi free-form twists on my hair right now using Cantu Shea Butter Twist and Lock. Also would recommend! I have a 3 hair type so it really helped me start the locking process faster 🙂

I've been looking for something for my son so thanks for sharing. He's got 3C-4A hair and his locs just end up curling up and unraveling the minute he sweats. And so far most things seem to build up or just not work. Gonna revisit this one since we used it when he first started and it wasn't enough

I just started using this. I have a pretty good hold too. I do, however, use the coconut hair oil hold and shine before the gel. This keeps me pretty tight even on a loose twist out.

Try homemade aloe vera gel with essential oils like tea tree oil and jojoba oil. Leaves no residue or buildup and its healthy for your locs

i actually have this product and i do use it but i have thick hair so when i retwist it doesn't hold for a very long time once my hair dries and im going through the days. maybe i need to try a different product

I've had my locs for well over a year now and I'm also from the Caribbean. What i want to know is it best to re-twist with mildly wet hair and add the product, or let the hair fully dry and then add the product and re-twist. I'm not to sure what to do since i'm still trynna figure everything out. I usually just let my hair fully dry and then re-twist. P.S: I really love your videos. they're helpful :)

No, I find it best to towel dry your hair so that it's not soaking wet and then re-twist. That way your hair and the product will filly dry together. Don't re-twist dry hair. That leads to breakage.

Everyone has different preferences. Products work differently for everybody. I only would say to avoid products with petroleum and beeswax. Not every Jamaican Mango and Lime product contains those so I wouldn't say avoid whole brands. Go product to product and see what works for you. Some people don't use products at all for their retwists.

i just saw this in the store (shoutout to walmart for being open 24 hours) but my sister has a natural curly bush and she uses all cantu products. i usually use the jamaican mango and lime loc gel, but i've also only been on my journy for 9 months and all of my locs are not completely locked. would you recomend me to keep using the jamaican mango and lime or the cantu?

There's nothing wrong with changing it up. It's not the gel's fault that your hair isn't fully locked, it's a process. I wasn't fully locked at that point.

I do not, it seems like a cool product. Personally, for me, once I'm done combining locs and they reach a specific length, I'll just interlock my hair with a safety pin. -Pluto
