Man oh man, this made me happy. We have our own stash of emergency supply food, and I've gotta tell you, when I get close to the expiration date, I sometimes get disappointed that I didn't have to use it in an emergency! Can you imagine? I end up using the Spam in these boring, overly salted meals so I don't waste it. Miserable! This inspired me to diversify what I'm keeping, and to find better ways to actually rotate through what we've held onto. What a great looking sammich! Thank you, sir!

Sometimes things are still good past the Best By Date . Also , the use by dates . I had some soup that was marked 2014 . Things like Miracle Whip I think you have to toss , read somewhere you can get botulism .

Granny used to make good sandwiches with canned corn beef! And those sweet pickles, bread, and butter pickles that’s where they are on the sandwich

Nice recipe, looks delicious. As for getting the meat out of the can in one piece. you can use an old-fashioned bottle opener using the end that pierces the can and puts a triangular hole in the bottom of the can or use a knife and pierce the bottom, too. Always look forward to your posts!
@KenClick15 күн бұрын
Glad you liked it! I'll try those tips. 😊

That works on condensed soup, and tomato paste, as well. Use the regular twist-type can opener to remove one end, the flip the can and pierce the other with the can opener. Venting air in allows the contents to slide out, all in a piece, and you don't have to scrape the can with a spatula. Now I'll have to make some rye bread tomorrow, and fix me one of these yummy sandwiches. Thanks for posting, Ken.

My favorite sandwich! Your homemade Sauce looked really good too! I mix some EVOO into my Sauerkraut and mix in a touch of Caraway seeds. That combo adds a nice cozy flavor to the Sauerkraut.

Ken , very nice & remove the corn beef just like you would remove spam from the can, has a suction to it from being packed so tight.
