Forreal, the show should've made Bolin like him. At least Varrick contributes to the main plot. Bolin is mainly just there to be a useful sidekick during fights & that's it. Varrick not only is funny as a comedic relief(funnier than Bolin), he's also tech-savvy, has his own goals, is intelligent, and is competent in his own right.

Just a reminder: Bending becomes more difficult the farther away you are from the object you are trying to bend. This goes triple for metalbending because you are not bending the metal, you are bending the earth within the metal. This is why most examples of metalbending begin with the bender being in direct contact with the object, or them using overstated movements when far away just to move small objects.

This is more of a problem for earthbenders and waterbenders who need to have their element present. Firebenders as we know can produce fire itself, so they can bend even from very long distances, and airbenders even though they need air around them can also bend from longer distances.

Earthbending is also the least spiritual of the four types. That's why the earth nation had a relatively low population of benders even though it was the largest amount of people. Air was the most spiritual, which is why every air nomad was an air bender. Earth benders are literally and spiritually the most grounded benders and do best when they can touch the ground.

Something I loved about this series, is that even though it probably wasn't intentional, every Avatar's personality was essentially 170° from the one before them. And likewise, Aang's and Korra's journey reflected that. Aang slowly became more confident as an Avatar, which he didn't want to be. Korra started off thinking she was the best already for being the Avatar, but her confidence slowly breaks down as she realizes that far from true.

@@justin.e249 I know it's ends with her being more compassionate, but a BIG part of Season 4 is her dealing with the trauma, and even Toph calls her out "You don't want to get it out, so you won't have to go back to being the Avatar. If you don't go back to being the Avatar, then you don't have to worry about getting hurt again." In the first 2 Seasons, and even the first half of the 3rd, she wouldn't have hesitated at all to get rid of the poison to get back into the action. Did you even watch the whole series? Lmao

This is the fourth episode in The Legend of Korra whose title is only one word, the others being "Endgame", "Peacekeepers", "Rebirth", and "Remembrances". Avatar: The Last Airbender contained only two episodes like this: "Imprisoned", and "Jet".

I'm pretty sure she is a more accomplished bender than Ghazan, even without Lavabending to her arsenal. Look at the fight with Korra... Korra display a huge amount of power, throwing fireballs, huge chunks of rocks, etc... Kuvira just keeps her strenght, and use the minimal amount of earth required to do what she need to do. Small rockslides to destabilize, small but sharp rock spires to hit, etc... To me, it just proves how sharp her mastery is. And why she is clearly a better bender than Ghazan. She dosen't surrender to her emotions, and maintain her head in the game at all time.

It's interesting, because Aang also struggled with the Avatar state as well, especially when he didn't have control over it, it made him aggressive and it made him into something he didn't want to be. He'd have nightmares as well and that got in the way of him becoming an actualized Avatar. It almost makes sense that Korra, too, struggles with her own Avarat state.

@@SweetStberries they really didn't meddle that much. most of the writing that can be criticized is on the writers themselves. korrasami and some budget issues in s4 effected stuff like the recap epside, and season 1's ending cause they didnt know they were getting more seasons. for the romance, the writer wasn't sure what he could and couldn't portray on screen and decided that he had to do at least something with them.

It’s an impossible task for one person to accomplish in a lifetime. 2. If the Avavtar was all powerful and perfect it would make for pretty boring stories and character. Seeing Korra rise above her pain and failings to find hope and success is the story. It’s not about bringing the world to balance, but the journey to find the path to balance. That is the job of the Avatar.

@Alicia en el Pais de las Maravillas I wouldn't say much of Aang's actions became problems. The Colony of Yan Dao (I don't remember the spelling well) that would eventually turn into Republic City was mostly a geo-political and cultural issue regarding the Fire Nations colonies after the HYW, the modernazation was an issue that plaged the Avatar world even the. I get the importance of modernization and all but when it does at the cost of other cultures then does it really matter that much. I like the comodities of today but seeing 2 of the 4 remaining Air Temples/Monasteries taken over and in ruins due to technological advancement it seriously breaks my heart. The NWT and SWT is kind of an exception but even then Aang wasn't that involved that we know of (granted Katara, who at the time was his girlfriend and later on his wife was pretty involved but still). If anything I fear for the Avatar that is to follow after Korra because Christ, the amount of changes, screw ups and political, economic, social, cultural and spiritual dissarray she caused is insane.
